Episode Context

Sitting deep in the Johto journey at episode 237 of 276, this marks the beginning of a compelling two-part storyline centered on the Red Gyarados and Team Rocket's large-scale schemes at the Lake of Rage. It follows the standalone 'Xatu the Future' and feeds directly into 'Rage of Innocence,' which resolves this confrontation, making it essential viewing rather than a skippable mid-season entry. The introduction of Lance signals a narrative escalation as the series builds toward its Johto endgame.
