I don't think the story in episode 2 is as strong as episode 1. This episode focuses on Isla, but the character development is still lacking in depth. Maybe because it's still an early episode so it's still too early to reveal everything.

Second episode was focused on a lot of lore as well as a few growing concerns within the team. Much more relaxed than the first episode.

This episode really hits hard because it focuses on the emotional weight of Isla and Tsukasa becoming partners.

Episode Context

After the premiere established the world of Giftias and the bittersweet nature of the Terminal Service, episode 2 narrows its focus to the Tsukasa-Isla dynamic, building the foundation that the entire 13-episode run depends on. It serves as a critical bridge between the world-building of episode 1 and the deeper emotional and moral complexities that emerge in subsequent retrievals. The professional and personal tension seeded here becomes the throughline for the season's escalating drama.
