Pie no Mi
Oshimeter
Synopsis
Pino, a cheerful squirrel, lives in the Pie No Mi Forest, among residents who are all anthropomorphic animals representing different flavors of Lotte's classic pastry snacks. That's the setup — and it's exactly as cozy and low-stakes as it sounds. Each episode drops Pino and his friends into small, lighthearted situations: navigating misunderstandings, helping neighbors, generally just existing in a warm little woodland community. There's no overarching drama, no villain arc. Just short, pleasant slices of forest life. The whole thing runs 8 episodes, released monthly on Lotte's YouTube channel, so it's genuinely easy to keep up with. The voice cast includes Yumiko Kobayashi and Rie Hikisaka, which gives the characters more personality than you'd expect from what is, technically, a snack brand promotional series. If you've enjoyed the gentle, pet-focused charm of Chi's Sweet Home or the soft absurdity of Bananya, this sits comfortably in that same space. It's also reminiscent of Poyopoyo Kansatsu Nikki in how it treats simple domestic moments as worth paying attention to. This isn't the kind of anime you watch for plot twists or emotional gut punches. It's the kind you put on when you want something genuinely gentle — cute animal characters, no conflict heavier than a minor forest misunderstanding, and the faint nostalgic warmth of a snack you probably ate as a kid.
