The second part takes a complete 108 with the artstyle. It's very ugly but obviously on purpose. Made me super uncomfortable tho, and the vomit didn't help any. Did not enjoy this one as much.

This episode is... aggressively disgusting, even by the show's standards so far, but it commits fully to its absurdity. Pace of first half is aggressively fast, as usual with how these go. Second half slows things down a bit before exploding again in its usual crude fashion.

The first few scenes of this episode were so ridiculously funny lol, everything Boogey Pukey (the ghost) did honestly left me speechless. I didn’t expect the art style change in the second half though, those scenes honestly made me feel bad for Terao.

Episode Context

Sitting at the season's midpoint approach, Episode 5 follows the body-image satire and high school chaos of Episode 4's 'The Diet Syndrome / High School Nudical,' continuing the pattern of standalone dual-segment stories that explore different facets of Daten City. This episode broadens the show's world by venturing into neighboring Little Tokyo and experimenting with tone, setting the table for Episode 6's 'Les Diaboliques,' which introduces significant new antagonists that raise the interpersonal stakes.
