The unexpected OST from this episode sounds like a Vocaloid song, I loved it. Although I'm more of an Akane-stan, this episode humanizes Kana and makes me like her a bit more. Though to be honest, nothing much happened, merely focusing more on building the anime's lore. 8/10

The prep for the idol festival is getting intense! Watching Kana struggle with being the "center" is relatable. She’s such a complex character. The training scenes are great, and seeing them actually work hard to build a fanbase makes the journey feel earned.

By this episode I was really expecting for Ruby to have more spotlight. It's good though that Mem's backstory and a little bit of Arima's have been shown. But I really felt like it's very slow-paced for Ruby.

The way they handle her backstory is a stroke of genius in how this industry actually works.

This episode is good; it shows how Kana creates an idol group to define the new generation through idol dance performances.

Okay, this is pure performance energy. The music hits. The visuals hit. The buildup hits. It feels earned, not forced, which makes it even better.

Episode 9 was funny, chaotic, and surprisingly emotional — Komachi’s antics bring out both humor and tension in equal measure.
The standout moment is when Komachi’s energy clashes with Aqua and Ruby, creating hilarious misunderstandings but also showing their growing bonds.

EPISODE CONTEXT

Episode 9 marks a tonal pivot from the individually focused drama of Episode 8's personal relationship exploration, redirecting the narrative toward the collective idol journey that's been simmering since the season's early episodes. As the penultimate pair of episodes begins, the formation of B Komachi consolidates several character threads—Ruby's ambition, Kana's pride, MEM-cho's reinvention—into a single narrative lane. This sets the stage directly for the final two episodes, where the group's viability and the season's thematic throughline about performance, identity, and legacy will come to a head.
