I'm glad things went well for Kana, but I don't think that was the plot progression I expected. My ship sank to the bottom of the ocean, and now I'm heartbroken. In the end, Akane truly was the best girl.

This works because it commits to consequences. Aqua’s choice isn’t framed as cool but deeply messy, and the fallout actually sticks. Emotional clash hits hard because it exposes how warped his priorities are becoming.

I think B-Komachi’s dynamic is starting to fall apart because of Ruby’s darker side. Aqua’s way of helping Kana is very extreme and unexpected for me. The vibe around Ruby and Aqua keeps getting more unsettling. What happens to Akane isn’t surprising, but the timing really is.

Bro, here I was thinking how'd the story went with the scandal, but a 360 plot twist came out of nowhere! OMG! Absolute cinema, edge of my seat, can't wait for the next episode! With the girl gone, at least he can finally focus on the goat.

AQUA MENGILAAAA!

Just untuk selamatkan kana dari scandal story, Aqua bagi scoop yang gila dekat journalist about him and Ruby be the daughter of Ai Hoshino!!!!! THE WORLD KNOW!!!!

Tapi quite sad jugak la bile Aqua break up dengan Akane sebab die dah made up his mind to carry out his vengeance to find his mother killer.

This episode amount of plot twists was insane and unexpected. Aqua returning to the dark side in an attempt to protect everyone really caught me by surprise and it feels the plot is going to pick up speed soon.

This show has been losing the plot slowly but surely but I still love Akane

The flow of the story is very enjoyable, eventho little bit surprise me for the twist. Building story for the arc with good delivery. the problems are very entertaining. Art direction is stay as cool as oshi no ko are. 🔥

I am still in shock after Oshi no Ko. Rift. I did not expect it to hit me so hard emotionally. Watching Ruby and Aqua, revive, Ai on set is one of the most raw things I have ever seen. It is not just a movie, it is a dose of reality. Just prepare to cry. I consider it is 10/10

Big brain Aqua BACK.! Detective Akane detectiving. And Kana getting more attention than she wants! Great episode and kinda sad.

That jump scare caught me off guard but it didn’t feel cringe at all. Oshi ni Ko sometimes goes big with dramatic visuals and sound effects to show extreme emotions, like when someone’s spiraling or frozen in fear. This really worked well in this ep to show what the character’s really thinking.

You don’t usually see Kana that broken or Akane that angry and the voice acting really sells it. It makes their growth and where the story is heading feel way more connected.

Oshi no Ko never misses with those intense facial expressions when emotions are running high, top that off with the art style switch-ups in those moments and it's *chef's kiss*. And those back-to-back betrayals in this episode cut really deep, you can feel it

Those massive Tokyo screens blazing with news about Ai's kids made my stomach drop; I just kept thinking about how utterly exposed Aqua and Ruby were in that instant, and how their whole careful world just shattered publicly.

I was staring at the screen when Akane dropped that bouquet and the knife fell out. It’s wild how far she was willing to go for him but Aqua ending things to keep her out of his mess is a twisted way of showing he cares. Those double stars in his eyes at the end really settled that he's gone for good.

The way those black stars showed up in Aqua's eyes at the very end made it feel like there is no coming back for him now

I felt so bad for Akane when she was standing there with those white roses, and then finding out Aqua was treating her like a pet with that GPS tag was just brutal.

Aqua dropping that bomb about Ai having kids just to save Kana from a tabloid scandal shows he really has no limit for how far he will go

EPISODE CONTEXT

Sitting at the season's midpoint, Episode 7 transforms the tension carefully built through the preceding episodes — particularly the industry traps and exposed vulnerabilities of Episode 6, "Idols and Relationships" — into full-blown crisis. The tabloid fallout that was looming has arrived, and the fallout is devastating. This episode serves as the emotional foundation for Episode 8, "Plan," where Aqua's calculated countermeasure takes center stage, making this the darkest-before-dawn pivot of the entire season arc.
