YOOO THAT CLIFFHANGER IS INTENSE! I did not expect that to go that way! To be honest, the mid-portion of the anime bored me because it was the credits part and the pacing was slow, I had to literally watch that part in 2x, but once we got in the story, THAT'S ONE HELL OF A STORY!

This episode feels more focused, leaning into emotional and narrative buildup. The pacing is well-balanced, maintaining tension without feeling rushed or dragged out.

It was a great piece of writing, but at the same time, it was an important episode overall. Acting was so emotional, so intense that it made me cry.

Episode Context

Sitting at episode 9 of 13, "Dream" serves as the dramatic capstone of the Tokyo Blade stage play arc that has defined much of the second season's middle stretch, bringing Aqua's emotional throughline to a powerful focal point. The intensity established in Episode 8 reaches its payoff here, shifting from external conflict to devastating internal reckoning. This episode also functions as a critical pivot, closing one chapter while laying the emotional groundwork for the season's final act and the deeper personal stakes ahead.
