Fire dialogue after dialogue, every conversation is a gold mine of philosophical discussion. This series encompass philosophy really well, its a discussion with the past and the future.

Suspense episode! The tension's high from the start to the ending scenes because of someone's presence. Good quick-thinking and countermeasures from Badeni were thrilling and satisfying. The facial details by the fire were also caught with details and expected visual spectacle.

Gosh the cliffhanger!!! mahn what an episode!!!! Now I really want to know what Badeni was about to write in the letter wow. Very nicely paced and even the smoothness of the animation is felt here greatly, in my opinion this episode is the best yet.

Episode Context

The title alone tells you everything about the stakes: this is an episode where belief becomes the most dangerous weapon a person can carry. Episode 12 hits the midseason mark with a suffocating sense of dread as the Inquisition closes in on forbidden ideas. Expect a slow-burn confrontation between Badeni and the inquisitor Nowak that turns every exchanged glance and careful word into a minefield. The episode leans heavily into themes of trust under duress, the cost of intellectual conviction, and the razor-thin line between faith and heresy. Madhouse delivers the tension through restrained, deliberate pacing, no action set pieces here, just the crushing weight of discovery looming over characters who have staked everything on a truth the world isn't ready to accept. Gripping and psychologically intense from start to finish.
