What happens when you take two characters from a famous fairy tale and turn them into 2 cute anime girls? You get Ookami-san and her seven companions! Being a reinterpretation of the Wolf and the Little Red Riding Hood, you actually ended up with a story where the 2 of them a friends, living together and being on the same club. What at first might look like an odd combination is nothing more than the concept behind this anime, a funny and creative retelling of classic stories. And as an introduction episode, it is fair to say that episode 1 was able to deliver a satisfactory intro with lots of moments of laughter.

What a cute premise! I’m loving the tough gf x loser bf trope (though they’re not a couple… yet). It has elements I don’t usually watch, but I’m already invested after just one episode. The only thing that bothered me was the narrator constantly popping in since I’m pretty slow at reading subtitles TT hope I get used it.

Episode Context

A high-energy series premiere that wastes no time establishing its quirky premise: a high school club that trades favors like a neighborhood fixers' guild, all wrapped in cheeky fairy tale references. The tone leans heavily comedic with bursts of action, anchored by the contrasting dynamic between the tough, punch-first Ryōko Ōkami and the painfully shy Ryōshi Morino, whose crush on her drives much of the episode's charm. J.C.Staff delivers snappy pacing and colorful visuals, making sure the ensemble cast gets enough screen time to spark curiosity without overwhelming. A distinctive narrator adds personality, commentary, and humor throughout. Expect lighthearted fun with just enough romantic tension and character intrigue to hook you beyond the first episode. It's a confident, playful opener that prioritizes energy and setup over depth.
