Oh! Edo Rocket

For an action comedy it was surprisingly poignant. Key characters that stand out to me are the Old man, Akai, Ginjiro, and Seikichi great characters that stuck to their guns to the bitter end. Well probably not the Old man he was there more for plot convenience and comic relief. Sora quite the dynamic character as well! Would watch again, I recommend it to anyone who enjoys meta humor, and fourth wall breaks!

Talk about righteous deception, that evil government official didn't see it coming none of them saw it right down to the city commissioner. It seems Gurren Lagann and Oh! Edo Rocket had the same idea for the moon. The animation is top notch in showing the inner workings of the alien technology. Love the finally fight scene. Crazy, how Akai was able to earn sympathizers in the show and in real life as well, the writers did a good job writing a complex character, you love to hate him. Great show highly recommend it seems in the final moments the fourth wall breaks started to happen less and less! Didn't say they all stopped though!!!

We're not even in the Meji era yet still in the Edo period but there is talk about ballistic missiles and intercontinental rockets. This must have been one crazy ass play to have seen in person. The action scenes never disappoint and animation of the rocket and the way the ice looked and acted under pressure were pretty good. The ending was truly unexpected, bet most people didn't know what was up, with just a handful knowing that something was going on in the background.

Yippee! The rocket is almost finished... Ahh! the rocket is almost finished and so too is this show. I like how the characters are self aware to point out an obvious flaw yet the writer still steers the the plot in that specific direction. Don't know why writers do that at this point it's a problem worldwide for all writers. Good episode with flashy animation, and mellow music playing in the background.

The comic relief was in it for the entire episode, so you know it was about to get serious from here on out. The backstory for both the Silver Fox and the Night Flower is expanded upon in this episode. Who knows maybe captain belly button just might jump back into the fray known as the Furai Row-House.

Love the consistent writing, expanding the lore of each character shows the writer cares for each of his characters he created. The foreshadowing of one character came to fruition in this epsiode in an epic display of true love.

Just a silly little episode that's basically a recap of all the events that has transpired over the course of the series up to this point. Genzo gets character development and well I wouldn't call it foreshadowing, but Seikichi, and Sora will cross that bridge eventually.

The hunt for the blue sky beast has come to an end. Eyes basically said what every politician does to stay in power, and Akai goes all out for the one he loves. The animation was in top form especially when the old man was dancing. I just love the jazzy music it makes the show even livelier.

What a crazy episode, it got dark real quick didn’t expect it to so visceral with how light hearted the shows beginning was then again the two Sky beasts were fighting even in the first episode. I’m glad the whole row house pitched in, they really came in clutch.

No wonder the singers sounded so familiar, and why they referenced Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi, they sang the opening credits! As for the reference between the siblings I'm certain there was a popular anime that came out around 2007 with a character that liked to eat apples. That Akai is too dangerous to be left alive.

The truth is out in the open! It is now up to Seikichi to reconcile with The Captain of the Black Ninja Squad, and to save Sora from a dire situation.

Ah, my comedy got all serious again. That cock sucker Akai is a piece of work I tell ya. Even if he somehow evades the death penalty the people row house will turn their backs to him, if anything now they tolerate his antics but when they find out his murder spree they'll show him the same kindness he shown them. Though through everything I bet Seikichi will end up being the bigger man.

They straight up made a Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi joke that is so out there. Talk about a niche joke only a few who watched it would know about. They referenced Naruto in the beginning along with the fake kanji tattoo that makes fun of people who don't know the language was hilarious! Mr. Pig keeps sticking his snout into other people's business. A great episode between brothers.

This episode really explored the human side of the blue sky beast, I don't know if they can make me feel sorry for her, I mean she is killing people. Genzo's mother is a real one for sure. Seikichi's brother may have found himself a girlfriend after all.

Goodness, can the stakes be any higher! The once peaceful comedy I was used to is now becoming a complicated story mired in a web of deception. I how Sora and Captain Bellybutton don't lose themselves in tricking their friends. The Blue sky beast is at it again, hope Sora can put an end to this before anymore get hurt!

I thought they were coming in for work on set. Why does boy in the story sound like Elmo! I love this episode it's another filler, but we get to follow two characters we normally don't and we get to know them better through their shared journey. The foreshadowing from the last episode seems to have paid off already. It was sweet and fun episode tons of laughs.

Another great episode slotted into the entry. The bright idea for their experiment was ingenious and cost effective. The lore is getting deeper, and the deputy is sinking further into madness. When will they notice what's his name is missing! lol

I forgot about that dude in the beginning with the television sets, thought they were doing a bit. Didn't know he'd have any bearing on the story to be honest. This episode went in a weird direction and I mean weirder than it usually goes. I think it was a bit on that old Broadway musical.

I am loving this old man, he's surrounded by by young beauties. He reminds me of the old British slap stick comedy "Are you Being Served". Which is pretty apt seeing as this episode is filled to the brim with innuendos. I love how Sora just randomly drops current day mathematical jargon like everyone know what she's talking about, though they bring up present day references themselves that no Edo period commoner should or could know. It's a nice and solid episode wink, wink with stakes so not just a regular ole filler episode.

Can I just say this is in the same vein as Ghost Stories! It carries the spirit of even the main protagonist Seikichi is voiced by a former cast member. The deputy is in over his head, and over heels; I hope the others can put a stop to this madness.
