It's been a year since Shinobu and Kaede met and they both seem to cherish each other a lot. The way they managed to parody so many anime tropes is such a short amount of time is pretty funny. The animation was overall pretty good, there's some early use of cgi camera angles and the mix of cells with digital animation is pretty standard for 2004. The last scene was the msot wholesome part of the entire show.
It's nice having an episode focused on Sasuke instead of Shinobu and the rest of the crew, the first scene was so confusing making the revelation incredibly funny. Sasuke's the leader for a reason even if we can't tell his face from the other ninjas. It was also fun seeing some action in this anime, even if it was filled with gags as usual. The second part is way better tho, I love a Kaede and Shinobu led story.
It's Christmas now, we really went through all the seasons in such a short amount of time. This series works best when it's everyone versus Onsokumaru instead of following his antics, Kaede being the lead was the right choice for this one. The second half was pretty good too, I think it's the only episode without so many disgusting jokes.
It was a very nonsensical episode, I mean the entire series is extremely random but this episode was all over the place and not in a bad way. I'm glad we get to see more of Devil, he's such a fun character to have around and he didn't even try to eat Onsokumaru this time. Kaede's cold would've worked better as the entire second storyline but the final scene was incredibly cute so I guess it's okay.
Definitely a more enjoyable episode compared to the last one, this entire series is carried by Kaede honestly, her terror house plot is really fun as well as her eagerness to dress up Shinobu as a nekomimi. It's a shame we didn't get to see the terror house it would've been a better plot than the plant bit. The ending was pretty funny tho I'll admit that.
The first part was just uncomfortable to watch, Miyabi must be like 7 at the oldest and every ninja must be in their 20s or 30s, it's just weird. The baseball setting was fun, specially with the other class of ninjas and Miyabi helping the girls out. I wouldn't say the entire episode is a skip but I'd advise you to start watching it on the second half.
It's good they keep adding some variety to the setting of each episode, but I'm honestly tired of Onsokumaru and his gags, maybe it's just not my type of humor but this anime could've been better if it was just Kaede, Shinobu and the other ninjas. The shiitake plot was terrible as well, the only thing that makes this episode decent is the chemistry between the Shinobu and Kaede.
Setting the episode in hell is definitely an interesting choice, seeing the characters as hellings is pretty fun but again, the gags stop being funny when you reuse them the same way every episode. Last episode was the beginning of spring and now it's the middle of summer so I guess we're moving fast through the year.
Shinobu is way too innocent for her own good, at least being the protagonist saves her from Onsokumaru's antics. The gags are getting old tho, I get it's the comedic style of the show but when they're repeated so often it gets pretty boring. The second storyline was pretty fun I hope they keep it up in the next episodes.
I feel like every episode is meant to be enjoyed on it's own no matter if you've seen the rest, it's very lighthearted and the plot is fun and easy to follow. Despite that there's still some continuity, like Devil being domesticated (or at least they're trying to). I do wish we could get more lore regarding the ninjas.
This is such a silly and chaotic show, the way it manages to go from gag to gag without any transition between them is really funny. It seems everyone fotgot Onsokumaru and their Master are supposed to be different people. Shinobu and Kaede's date going from cute to weird so quickly is hilarious.
It was a good start, most of the gags are pretty funny, the ninja training setting can lead to fun plotlines. Shinobu and Kaede have great comedic chemistry, even the serious moments have some quirky aspect to them, I can only hope the writers keep this quality throughout the show. This is one of Ufotable's early works but the style is entirely different to their current shows.
Sasuke is a pretty fun character, even though he might be a bit of a pervert. To be fair, everyone pales in comparison when there's a pervert like Onsokumaru out there. The parody of the cranes story was so random and the end dude... that must've been serious for a bit before delving back into madness.
I love how hyped the Ninjas were about Kaede and Christmas, ready to spell her name out and everything. The way Onsokumaru tried to bs his way through everything never gets old, though. Yes, even for the Christmas episode. The second half of the episode honestly felt a lot more drawn out than usual, but it was also more random and chaotic than usual.
Well, we got back to the hot springs from the last fan service episode, particularly glad we didn't have any unnecessary fan service. Kaede and Shinobu lowkey have a wholesome bond, especially the taking care of each other thing when they fall sick.
A robotic cat from the future... Hmm, I wonder who that is a reference to. The training arc was fun, and so was watching Shinobu wear her costume to the school festival. Pochinosuke arc was funny; I love how they subtly break the fourth wall.
Love the Maria-sama ga miteru reference. Again, with this episode, there was a lot of randomness involved too. Especially with Onsokumaru and his baseball pitches. The first part was just weird; I feel bad for poor Miyabi</3
The best part about this anime, if there is one, is probably the randomness. Even though the episode title lays out what is supposed to happen, what happens within the episode still catches you off guard. I was pretty surprised that Onsokumaru wasn't lying for once and the last bit of the episode was pretty wholeome.
The Onsokumaru going to hell segment was pretty boring. I do like his interactions with the other ninjas, though; they're pretty fun. The spooky story bit was hilarious, with some pretty wild dialogue accompanying it. The summer festival song was adorable too!
The first part of the episode was basically fan service that got pretty weird with Onsokumaru's imagination. The last line of the opening credits changed too, with an interesting line added. The second part was pretty fast-paced, with the chaotic initial, the emotional climax, and finally the funny but sad conclusion.
