Although the pacing is a bit abrupt to jump to Natsume's past, it's still really interesting to see one of Natsume's memories. I'd say just get ready for the emotional rollercoaster in this episode.

This episode focuses solely on Natsume's past interactions with both human and youkai. It wasn't a bad episode but you need to ready for the emotional rollercoaster ride this one has to offer, it was nice seeing how he struggled in the past and how he's changed for the better. The lore is peak with different youkai's per episodes.

This one a total change of pace. It’s a flashback episode that takes us back to protag middle school days, and it’s a bit of a tear jerker. The ending hits hard because it shows that even though protag was miserable, there were small moments of connection he just wasn't ready.
