I like that backstory bc we finally see a proper history between the two but the way they paced this episode was... meh

Aaaa they've been doing so well and then the pacing drops so much 😭 I get that y'all wanna do flashbacks but this could've gone better

Some people say using a puppet is cheating in a one on one fight, but Kankuro being smart enough to hide inside the dummy is just good strategy for a ninja

My jaw seriously dropped when that puppet twisted Misumi's neck like it was nothing, I mean, that was brutal to watch. Then Kankuro just pops out of those bandages? I definitely didn't see that coming, and it makes me wonder what other creepy tricks he's got up his sleeve.

The flashback about Sakura being a bud waiting to bloom hit me hard and it makes this fight feel way more personal than just fighting over a boy

Sakura stopping the hair talk and telling Ino to come at her with everything she has is the best thing she has done in the entire chunin exam so far

I always thought the rivalry between Sakura and Ino was just about who liked Sasuke more, but seeing those flashbacks to when they were kids changed things for me. Ino was so nice to her back then and it is sad they ended up like this. Sakura finally standing her ground and putting that headband on her forehead felt really earned

Both girls putting on their headbands at the same time was a cool move but that cliffhanger at the very end made the whole room quiet

That Misumi guy was way too creepy with the way his arms were wrapping around things and then Kankuro just replaced himself with a wooden doll out of nowhere

It felt great when I saw Sakura actually put her headband on her forehead properly because she is finally ready to stop being a bystander and fight Ino for real

Hiding in the bandages was a smart move for Kankuro and that neck snap was nuts even if that Misumi guy is basically a human rubber band

Ino acting like she was too good to fight Sakura was annoying and it was good to see Sakura call her out on that pity act before they started throwing hands

The way Kankuro swapped places with his puppet was such a smart move and you have to wonder what else he has hidden in those purple wrappings on his back

Kankuro hiding in the bandages and using that puppet was actually terrifying and nobody could have seen it coming when Misumi looked like he was winning for a second

The way Ino keeps trying to get in Sakuras head is so cold but seeing Sakura finally tie her headband properly is such a massive moment for her character

asuka_langley_181
The history between Sakura and Ino made their fight feel much heavier and it was kind of sad to watch them go at it. Some people might complain about all the childhood flashbacks, but they really helped explain why this moment meant so much to both of them. Even though the double knockout was frustrating, it felt right for their story.

I really felt for Sakura when she stood her ground and told Ino she didn't want her pity. Watching those flashbacks of Ino helping her with her insecurities and then seeing them clash for real was pretty intense. The animation on Kankuro's puppet at the start was also super creepy with the way it just crunched that guy's bones.

Seeing Sakura cut her hair earlier then wearing her protector properly today made me feel like she is finally becoming a real ninja instead of just a Sasuke fan

Tenten was right to call Neji out on his comment, because the bond between Sakura and Ino is what makes this fight so personal. They aren't holding back because they are girls but because they were sisters once.
