another filler flashback where sasuke saves a random girl and naruto cosplays as him which is kinda funny but also completely pointless, it's watchable if you're doing chores in the background but you won't remember it exists a week later

It actually made me tear up when Guy said he would die right next to Lee if the plan failed because their connection is the best thing about this whole show

Naruto trying to punch solid iron wood and hurting his hand was a classic moment and it is cool how he always jumps in to help Team Guy even if it is filler

Seeing those wooden dummies copy every move was creepy but the way Neji figured out the seals showed why he is the best strategist for these weird filler missions

Watching the third and fourth gates open at the same time to overload the puppet system was such a smart move and the animation for the chakra auras looked great

You really have to wonder how the Ryudoin brothers thought they could trap the power of youth in a wooden tower and they got a face full of the Inner Gates instead

That ending where Guy and Lee both did the thumbs up and the sparkling grin while Naruto watched them was so funny

Naruto and his team working together to rip those seals off the back of the puppets was actually a pretty clever way to fight

Those brothers really thought they could make Guy and Lee kill each other but they forgot about the power of youth and morse code

I really felt for Lee when he was crying, especially while he was decoding that morse code message from Guy while they were trapped in those different rooms

I honestly think this is one of the better filler episodes because the bond between Guy and Lee is so pure, seeing them both ready to die for each other while opening the gates to break that puppet jutsu was intense, and it was cool to see the Ryudoin brothers realize their father actually respected Guy instead of hating him all those years

Naruto trying to punch those wooden dummies and having his hand bounce right off because they were reinforced with chakra was actually pretty funny

Neji using his byakugan to find the weak spot in that massive wooden pagoda made the whole rescue mission actually possible

Guy showing so much respect for the father of the people trying to kill him really proves what a class act he is

I can't believe Lee dragged his injured self all the way to that mountain just to save his master and then they opened the gates together

Guy and Lee tapping morse code with their feet to talk to each other was a really clever way to beat that puppet trap

Usually filler feels like a waste of time but seeing the bond between Guy and Lee get tested like this was pretty great and the moment they realized they were fighting each other through those wooden puppets was handled so well and the way they used the Morse code tapping to sync up their attacks and finally break free

The part where the wooden dummies started copying the Leaf Hurricane was super tense, and seeing Neji use his Byakugan to help the others find the core was a nice touch

My heart melted when Lee started crying after he decoded the message from Guy because you can tell how much he respects his teacher and it felt so genuine

Naruto was so confused about what was going on while Guy and Lee were having a full conversation through Morse code and the thumbs up at the end was the perfect way to finish

EPISODE CONTEXT

Sitting within the Third Great Beast Arc, this episode follows 'The Third Super-Beast!' where Guy's team first clashed with new adversaries, and now escalates those confrontations into deeply personal territory. It bridges toward 'Crisis! The Hidden Leaf 11 Gather!', which pulls the full ensemble together for a larger collective response. As a filler arc landing in the final stretch of the original Naruto series, it exists outside the manga storyline but offers dedicated Guy and Lee fans a focused showcase.
