I wanted to see Raiga do something cool with his swords and instead he just stands there and lets Ranmaru do all the work. It makes the Seven Swordsmen look kind of bad and pathetic

Neji has the strongest eyes in the village but some mist and a kid made them useless. It felt wrong seeing him so confused when he usually sees everything in the area around him

Raiga is supposed to be one of the Seven Swordsmen but he just shoots lightning and feels like a weak version of Zabuza. The show already did this dynamic better with Haku and Zabuza

The way Ranmaru can create fake chakra images is a cool idea for a filler power, but it feels like it just exists to make Neji look bad.

I really like the new opening song Namikaze Satellite even if the animation for it looks kind of lazy and cheap. The music is a nice change of pace for this arc mission

Rock Lee throwing hands while he is unconscious is the best thing about this arc and seeing him move like that made the whole episode

Why is the animation in the new opening song so bad compared to the actual fights in the episode because Raiga versus the kids looked halfway decent

The way Rock Lee uses muscle memory to defend himself while unconscious is a total surprise and it almost makes watching this filler arc worth it

The fact that Neji actually struggled because that mist blocked his Byakugan was a pretty cool way to show that even top tier visual jutsu have limits

I really wanted to like Raiga since he is one of the Seven Swordsmen of the Mist, but his bond with Ranmaru just feels like a retread of what we already saw with Zabuza and Haku earlier in the show. It is hard to care about the stakes when the villains feel like diet versions of characters we already loved.

Rock Lee blocking those hits while he was totally out of it is the most impressive thing he has done in a while and he really deserved that counter on Raiga

This entire Raiga arc is proof that you should just skip the filler and go straight to the canon stuff because this plot is dragging so much

I think seeing Neji struggle with his Byakugan being completely blocked by that weird mist is the only interesting thing happening besides Rock Lee being a machine

The fight choreography is actually pretty solid even for filler, but the new intro animation looks so unfinished.

Raiga and Ranmaru feel like such a cheap knockoff of Zabuza and Haku and it makes this whole mist mission feel like a waste of time

My mind is blown that Rock Lee can actually keep fighting after he got knocked out and it shows how hard that guy works even when he is asleep

Raiga using those lightning blades was okay but the whole situation with the kid on his back felt like a hollow version of a better story you already saw

Watching the team get completely lost in that fog for twenty minutes was not the most exciting way for you to spend the afternoon

Having a kid who can literally create fake heartbeats to trick the most powerful eyes in the village feels like a bit much for a side story

I am trying to stay interested in these episodes since the Seven Ninja Swordsmen have such cool designs, but seeing Neji struggle against those fake chakra figures is just annoying. It feels like they had to weaken the Byakugan just to make Ranmaru seem like a threat and it makes the whole mission feel like a side quest that doesn't matter

EPISODE CONTEXT

This episode sits in the middle of the Kurosuki Family Removal Mission arc, a filler storyline running deep in the back half of the original Naruto series. It follows directly from the team's initial confrontation with the Kurosuki family in 'A Lesson Learned: The Iron Fist of Love' and escalates the conflict, setting up the next chapter, 'The Dark Creeping Clouds,' which continues the team's push to dismantle the family's grip.
