The animation during the fight scenes in the mist is actually decent for a filler episode, although some parts drag on a bit too long

Most filler is a skip but the Kurosuki family arc has some of the best weapons and Raiga is actually a threat

I couldn't look away from those twin lightning blades because they look like they belong in the actual main story

Watching Lee train while thinking about the Curry of Life was hilarious and his dedication is unmatched

Raiga is a weird villain and his relationship with that kid Ranmaru is kind of creepy but also sort of sad in a way

It is obviously just filler and the pacing feels a bit slow when they are just sitting around talking about curry

This arc gets a bad reputation because it is not in the manga, but I honestly think Raiga and Ranmaru have a really interesting bond and seeing those Kiba swords for the first time was a huge highlight because they look way more lethal than most ninja tools we have seen so far and any episode that focuses on Lee is fine by me

Guy and Lee are carrying this whole mission and their energy is the only reason to stay for these side stories

I really liked seeing those lightning swords Raiga has and they look so cool in the mist

Rock Lee getting so worked up over a curry shop owner is the most Lee thing ever and it makes the whole filler arc actually worth watching

The twin Kiba swords look so dangerous in those final shots and knowing they belong to one of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen makes this whole gold mine mission feel a lot more important

Watching Rock Lee talk about the power of youth while trying to save a village from the gold mine is exactly what makes these fillers bearable

The way the Kurosuki family just buries people alive is actually pretty dark for a random filler arc, and it makes Raiga feel like a real threat

I usually skip the filler arcs but Rock Lee is my favorite so I had to watch this one and his connection to the curry shop lady was so wholesome and it made me so mad when her son Karashi basically spat in Lee's face by joining Raiga and the Kiba swords look amazing in the animation so I am staying for the fight

My heart actually broke a little bit when Karashi chose the Kurosuki gang over his own mom and Lee had to witness that betrayal

Naruto joining Team Guy is a total chaotic mess and seeing Neji try to keep them all in line while they head to the Katabami Gold Mine is hilarious

Karashi being such a coward after Lee tried so hard to help him was frustrating, but seeing the Kiba swords for the first time made the ending worth it

I really felt for Lee when he got so fired up about Sansho and her curry shop because his passion for random people is honestly the best part of his character

Raiga actually looks kind of terrifying with those twin swords and it is cool seeing a member of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen show up even if it is filler

Neji looking so done with Naruto and Lee was the only good part of the start of the mission because they are both way too loud for him

EPISODE CONTEXT

This episode sits in the middle of the Kurosuki Family Removal Mission filler arc, directly following 'Funeral March for the Living,' where the team first engaged Raiga's forces and discovered the grim reality of his rule over the village. 'A Lesson Learned: The Iron Fist of Love' deepens the conflict and the team's strategic approach, setting the stage for the arc's climactic confrontations in the episodes ahead. At episode 153 of 220, this falls squarely in Naruto's extended filler stretch between the Sasuke Recovery arc and Shippuden.
