I really felt for Iruka during that fight since he has to deal with his old friend using those weird puppet jutsus and it makes Mizuki look even more desperate for power

Mizuki was talking way too much about not being recognized and his puppet tricks were cool but he really needs to just shut up and fight Iruka already

The way Shikamaru just takes charge and makes those two idiots look like children is why Team 10 has the best chemistry in the whole village and it makes this filler actually worth it

I think Team 10 actually saved this arc because seeing Chouji hold back that giant Raijin guy while Ino did her thing was the only part I actually cared about

Those two legendary stupid brothers are basically just there to show off how much Chouji and the others have grown and watching them use the human boulder was great

I know people say to skip the filler episodes, but I actually think having Team 10 get some shine is great and seeing them pull off that Ino-Shika-Cho formation really reminds me why they are such a good team. It feels like the show finally remembered they exist outside of Shikamaru being smart, and it was a fun little distraction from the main plot

Most people skip this stuff and they miss out on the Ino-Shika-Cho combo being executed so well during the battle

Shikamaru's shadow possession was genuinely impressive, making me wonder if he's been secretly practicing more than we thought. Watching everyone work together so effortlessly, I felt this real sense of pride, like they've finally hit their stride as a truly cohesive team.

Watching Shikamaru lead Ino and Choji into their big formation was cool and they really work better as a unit than any other squad

It made me happy that Choji came through for the team at the end and their teamwork is just better than Team 7 right now

Mizuki was such a jerk to that teammate in the flashback and him suffocating that guy was dark for this show

mizuki being the main focus again is pretty tiring and even with the ino-shika-cho combo it still feels like we are just stalling for time

shikamaru using his head to trap fujin and raijin was great, and it was nice to see team 10 handle their own fight without naruto needing to save them

shikamaru carrying the team with his strategies is the only thing keeping this mizuki stuff interesting since those two hungry brothers are just annoying

I know people hate filler but I honestly think getting more time with team ten is great because we rarely see them coordinate like that in the manga and seeing the ino-shika-cho formation work against those big dumb guys was fun plus I always like when iruka gets involved in the action with naruto even if the plot is kind of slow

ino and shikamaru and choji finally had a chance to use their specific teamwork to stop those brothers and seeing them take charge while naruto went after iruka was satisfying

it is definitely filler, and having the stupid brothers as the main threat for team 10 feels like a waste of their talent even if the formation looked okay

the way the trio used their shadow and mind transfer jutsu to pin down those giants was cool and it really shows how well they work together as a unit

mizuki is still such a boring villain but I did enjoy that small interaction between naruto and hinata at least

watching Choji and Shikamaru and Ino pull off that combo move against Fujin and Raijin makes seeing them fight together worth the wait

EPISODE CONTEXT

Sitting at episode 145 of 220, this falls firmly within Naruto's extended filler run that bridges the gap between the Sasuke Retrieval arc and Shippuden. The previous episode established a new squad formation, and this one builds on that setup by showcasing Team 10 in action. It leads directly into episode 146, 'Orochimaru's Shadow,' which hints at a shift toward darker, more plot-relevant territory.
