Hagoromo keeps trying to lead by example, but Indra is clearly not built like his father and needs more than just a vague lesson in peace

I know this is filler and it happened right in the middle of the Kaguya fight but I liked getting some lore on the brothers and seeing how Indra basically invented the cold Uchiha attitude because he was too smart for his own good and Zetsu just gave him that final little push into the dark to ruin everything for everyone

It finally clicked for me how the Uchiha and Senju rivalry started since it makes the fight between Sasuke and Naruto feel like an endless cycle

I forgot how much of a natural genius Indra was since he basically invented jutsu from scratch and it makes his descent into power so much more believable when he already thinks he is better than everyone

Ashura struggling with basic Ninshu makes it obvious why Hagoromo chose him but the contrast with his genius brother is still brutal to watch

Seeing Hagoromo just sit back and watch Indra fall for Zetsu lies is so frustrating because he is supposed to be wise and yet his parenting is a total disaster

Ashura being so bad at everything at first makes him much more relatable than Indra and you can see why the village would eventually follow him

Watching Indra get manipulated by Black Zetsu looks like how Anakin fell for Palpatine, and it shows that some people are just prone to choosing power

The backstory of how the shinobi world actually started makes the current war feel so much heavier because these two brothers were doomed from the very start

Seeing the stark contrast between Indra law and Ashura kindness makes the whole history of the shinobi world make way more sense now

That sibling rivalry is getting so tense and Hagoromo choosing a successor is going to be a total mess since they both think they are right

I honestly expected to hate this because it is filler and we are so close to the end of the show, but seeing Ashura actually grow into his own person was great. He is much more than just a Naruto prototype and his kindness is contagious. I just wish Black Zetsu would leave Indra alone and let him think for himself

My heart actually broke seeing how cold Indra has become because he used to be such a good brother before he got obsessed with strength

Ashura showing compassion during his journey instead of just using power like Indra really highlights the difference between their paths and it was cool

Another week of filler when everyone wants the final fight is painful but seeing the origins of the curse of hatred is okay for now

Watching Indra get so obsessed with rules while Ashura actually tries to help people makes it so clear why their descendants are still fighting

The way Hagoromo sent them on separate missions is such a smart move to see their true colors, even if this filler is stalling the war finale

I seriously can not stand how Black Zetsu keeps whispering in Indra ear because it is so obvious he is just poisoning the guy and ruining everything

Ashura getting some real personality and not just being a Naruto copy was actually refreshing and he really feels like his own man now

The pacing is dragging so much and we just want the main story back but the backstory of these two brothers is actually decent enough to keep watching

EPISODE CONTEXT

Falling at episode 466 of 500, this filler installment continues the Ashura and Indra backstory arc, building on the brothers' diverging worldviews established in prior episodes. It deepens Asura's characterization and his growing suitability as Hagoromo's successor, directly setting up the next episode, 'Ashura's Decision.' The arc as a whole provides mythological context for the Naruto-Sasuke rivalry, though it sits outside the manga's core narrative.
