The animation team really messed up by putting Minato in that random background shot of people walking because he definitely should not be there during the time of the Sage of Six Paths

Hagoromo's journey, tirelessly searching for homes for each of the tailed beasts, made me genuinely feel for him; he was so dedicated, almost as if he was trying to give them the loving upbringing he himself might have missed out on. I wondered if he felt a personal responsibility to ensure their happiness after everything.

I think I actually liked this one because seeing Hagoromo build that bridge was such a peaceful moment and it really showed how different his original idea for Ninshu was from the war we see now

Getting more backstory on the Otsutsuki is cool but the timing is so bad since they stopped the main fight just to give us a history lesson right when things were getting good

Hagoromo truly just wanted people to use chakra to understand each other, and it makes me wonder how different the world would be if Ninshu hadn't been twisted into Ninjutsu. It's kinda heartbreaking to realize his original vision was all about connection, not combat.

Hagoromo building actual bridges to help people instead of just using his power for war was a really cool way to show what he wanted for the world

Why are we getting a history lesson on bridges when Naruto and Sasuke are literally fighting for their lives against Kaguya right now and the momentum is completely gone

Seeing Indra and Ashura together and knowing what happens to their future incarnations makes their childhood scenes feel really heavy and ominous

That moment where Hagoromo refuses to use his power to fight back against those who hate him shows his incredible resolve and his commitment to unity

I honestly feel for Hagoromo trying to fix the mess his mother left behind, even if this backstory is kind of poorly timed during the war

The way chakra was originally meant for peace and understanding and not for throwing giant fireballs is a really sad contrast to how the world ended up

It is a filler episode and the timing is honestly terrible with everything going on, but I really appreciated the explanation of Ninshu and seeing Hagoromo try to heal the world and teach people how to connect their hearts instead of just teaching them how to weave signs for combat gave me a lot of perspective on how far the shinobi have strayed from his vision

Seeing Black Zetsu already lurking around Indra and Ashura when they were kids makes me realize how far back his manipulation goes and it is pretty unsettling

Putting a long backstory right in the middle of the Kaguya fight is such a weird choice and the pacing is dragging so hard right now

I actually like seeing Hagoromo act like a regular guy instead of some untouchable god and his interaction with that thief Futami felt really grounded

Hagoromo building a literal bridge to help people connect is such a cool metaphor for what Ninshu was supposed to be before everyone started using it to just kill each other

Black Zetsu acting like a little devil on peoples shoulders while the sage plays messiah is such an obvious parallel but it actually fits their roles pretty well

The way Hagoromo tries to teach everyone about connecting hearts through chakra is interesting, but it makes it even more depressing to see how it all turned into war later on

Hagoromo giving the tailed beasts their own places to live was the only highlight because everything else with the thief and the preaching felt like such a slog

Seeing the sage spend so much time on a broken bridge when the world is ending in the main story is just a really strange choice for the writers to make right now

EPISODE CONTEXT

Sitting at episode 464 of 500, this filler installment continues the extended flashback block exploring the origins of chakra and the ninja world, following episodes that covered Kaguya Otsutsuki's backstory. It shifts focus squarely onto Hagoromo's founding of Ninshu, bridging the gap between the Kaguya material and the upcoming Ashura and Indra arc that contextualizes the central rivalry driving Shippuden's endgame.
