That puppet user taking over Choji was actually pretty scary and seeing Sakura have to protect them both while Ino was busy made her look like a beast

Episode Context

Episode 408 lands deep in Shippuden's extended filler stretch, following episode 407's exploration of Ino's Yamanaka clan techniques and continuing a non-canon Chunin Exams arc. It directly sets up episode 409, 'Their Backs,' maintaining the filler thread of exam-based team challenges. None of these events connect to the main war arc, so viewers tracking the core storyline can bypass this block entirely.
