Sakura standing in front of Ino and Choji was nice to see and she really held it down for her team

Another week of filler when the war is literally happening in the background makes it so hard to care about these chunin exam flashbacks

Episode Context

Sitting at episode 409 of 500, this filler installment follows 'The Cursed Puppet,' where Team Asuma clashed with Hidden Sand adversaries during Chunin Exams-era events. 'Their Backs' pivots from team combat to individual character development before leading into 'The Hidden Plot Set Into Motion,' which begins steering back toward broader narrative threads. This stretch of episodes falls deep in the filler-heavy back half of Shippuden, well removed from the main Fourth Great Ninja War storyline.
