i died laughing when danzo told guy he didnt have enough darkness in him for the anbu and that is the biggest compliment anyone could ever give that man

it is crazy watching kakashi and itachi work together because you can see how much they both have on their minds and the way they move through those missions is cold

Itachi being in ANBU at just eleven years old totally caught me off guard, like, how does a kid even handle that kind of pressure? My gut just dropped seeing him so coldly eliminate those survivors, which really makes me think about how much he had to sacrifice and how utterly alone he must've felt compared to other kids his age.

I seriously can't believe Itachi was only eleven and already going through all that, it just feels so messed up to see him taking lives like it's nothing compared to Kakashi on those missions. My blood boils thinking about how much of a scumbag Danzo really was, always ready to sacrifice kids for his own twisted vision.

I was genuinely disturbed by Danzo saying you *need* darkness in your heart to serve the village; it's such a bleak and manipulative way to see things. No wonder someone as openly emotional and purely good as Guy could never, ever thrive under him, and honestly, that just makes me appreciate Guy even more.

I was honestly floored seeing just how young Itachi was when he was already knee-deep in the Leaf's darker dealings, and watching him interact with Kakashi before everything went down was a surprising treat. My frustration with Danzo just skyrocketed, knowing he made Itachi spy on his own family – it's chilling to witness the groundwork for such a devastating tragedy for the Uchiha clan.

I was so hyped to see young Itachi in ANBU, like, him being the youngest ever just makes me think about how much pressure he must have been under even back then. And seeing him work with Kakashi, it’s wild how skilled they both were, especially knowing where their paths diverge later.

I was just floored seeing Itachi kill like that, barely a kid and already so desensitized; it really shows how the village completely crushed his spirit from such a young age. It just makes me feel so much for him, knowing what he had to go through and the impossible choices he was forced into.

I totally felt for Guy when he was told he couldn't join Kakashi in the ANBU because he had "no darkness"; it's like the ultimate compliment to his pure spirit, but also kinda heartbreaking that his positive energy prevents him from helping his friend directly. It just highlights how genuinely good he is, which I've always loved about him.

Ugh, I really didn't like that new opening song, it was just so grating on my ears and totally threw me off after the last one which I actually enjoyed. At least the visuals for the new arc looked pretty cool, but man, I'm gonna be skipping this OP for a while.

When Itachi officially joined ANBU, I felt this pit in my stomach, knowing full well the dark path he's being set on. It's truly heartbreaking to watch him step into that role, understanding the heavy cost that's coming for him later and how it'll twist his destiny.

I swear, Danzo just makes me so angry; seeing him manipulate Itachi into being a spy for the village, knowing what that did to him later, just twists my gut. He really doesn't care about anyone but himself and his twisted vision for Konoha.

Itachi and Kakashi working together was so slick and efficient, it really impressed me how they cleared that room without breaking a sweat. It just made me think about all the inevitable heartbreak for Itachi down the line, giving this fleeting moment of their combined skill such a bittersweet, almost heartbreaking, glow.

I seriously laughed when Guy wanted to join ANBU just to hang out with Kakashi, like, that's such a pure friendship goal. But man, it totally bummed me out that Danzo shot him down just because he was too good for that messed up organization; it really highlights how twisted Danzo's view of 'strength' is.

Itachi's cold efficiency in taking out those survivors, even as a kid ANBU, honestly gave me shivers. I just keep wondering how much of his innocence was already gone by that point, and if it was even possible for him to feel any other way when faced with those decisions.

When Kakashi, who basically never shows fear, looked genuinely unnerved by Itachi's presence, I totally felt his discomfort. It made me wonder what secrets Itachi was already carrying, even at that age, to give off such an intense, almost dangerous, aura.

Okay, so I usually skip filler, but this one with young Kakashi and Itachi was actually so good! Seeing Kakashi struggle with that brutal 'no survivors' mission, and Itachi just being stone-cold, really highlighted how different they were even then. It makes me wonder if Itachi's ability to just *do* things like that was always there, and how much it set him up for everything he'd eventually have to do to his clan.

Itachi's cold efficiency in taking out everyone on that mission so quickly was genuinely unsettling to witness; I mean, he didn't even hesitate. It just makes me wonder what kind of resolve he had, or how much he had to steel himself, to be able to do something that absolutely ruthless.

When I really think about Itachi, just eleven years old, having to put on that ANBU mask and take those impossible orders, my stomach just drops. It's crazy how much that single moment defined his entire life and the path he had to walk, protecting Konoha from the shadows.

Itachi being forced to spy on his own dad and wipe out his whole clan at just eleven years old? My heart just aches for him, I mean, how could the village put that kind of burden on a child? It really makes me question if there was any other way, and it makes his later sacrifice feel so much heavier knowing what he was put through even back then.

EPISODE CONTEXT

This filler episode follows 'A Shinobi of the Leaf,' which explored the broader challenges facing ANBU operatives, and narrows the focus squarely onto Itachi's induction into the unit. It serves as a crucial character bridge leading directly into 'Coup d'État,' where the simmering tensions between the Uchiha clan and the Hidden Leaf Village escalate significantly. Positioned at episode 357 of 500, it's part of an extended flashback arc that contextualizes pivotal decisions made by Itachi long before the main storyline's events.
