Kabuto's backstory is really filling a gap of his character, well made, since he is a spy, showing backstory later is the most effective way to create a depth

My heart actually broke for Kabuto when he realized his foster mom did not even recognize him because of those fake photos and Danzo is seriously the worst person ever

Kabuto going on about being a dragon when he is just a snake trying to find himself was pretty deep but the flashbacks felt like they took forever to get through

Sasuke and Itachi actually teaming up against the enemy was such a wild sight, I almost couldn't believe it after everything they've been through. It felt so strange seeing them fight *with* each other instead of to the death, but honestly, their combined attacks were super cool and I'm kinda here for this unexpected brotherly vibe that felt like a glimpse of what could have been.

Hearing the title explained through the different views of the Leaf was cool because Sasuke and Itachi are just on completely different pages despite fighting together

Itachi is playing 4D chess with this Izanami stuff and poor Sasuke is just standing there trying to keep up with his big brother and it is actually kind of funny

That Izanami jutsu sounds terrifying because it basically traps you in your own head until you stop lying to yourself and admit who you really are

I feel so bad for kid Kabuto and that glasses lady because Danzo really ruined everything for them and made him this way

It was cool to see Kabuto trying to transcend being a snake by becoming a dragon, but the episode dragged a bit with all the back and forth between the present and his childhood memories

I never thought I would actually feel bad for Kabuto but seeing how the Leaf Village used him as a spy and took away his mother figure was devastating, and Itachi using Izanami to force him to see the truth is such a cool concept. It really makes you think about how everyone has their own version of the Leaf they fight for

I get that seeing the Uchiha brothers fight is epic, but man, this long flashback totally kills the momentum of the war for me right when things were finally getting good; I was so hyped to see what was next.

I felt so awful watching Nono not even recognize Kabuto, her own son, at the end; it's just so messed up how the village's lies completely erased her memories. It really makes me wonder if she ever even had a chance to truly remember him, or if they just kept messing with her mind until there was nothing left.

My frustration is through the roof seeing both Kabuto and Itachi, these complex characters, relegated to mere pawns doing the Leaf's dirty work. I can't shake the feeling that their tragic pasts, Itachi's ultimate sacrifice, and Kabuto's desperate search for belonging, were just cruelly used against them. It really makes me wonder if anyone in their position ever truly stands a chance.

I finally understood why Kabuto is so obsessed with gathering different powers; it's like he's been trying to piece together an identity for himself because he never really had one of his own, and honestly, that just makes me feel a bit bad for him. He

I'm still reeling from how Itachi, even as a reanimated corpse, is putting in more work for the Hidden Leaf than most of the ninja actually alive right now. It just makes me feel so much seeing his unwavering dedication, especially when you remember everything he sacrificed before.

Ugh, seeing how Danzo and Root completely messed with Kabuto's life just makes me so mad, they really are behind so much of the village's pain. it's like every time we learn more about them, it just confirms how much damage they've done, pushing people like Kabuto down such dark paths.

My initial eye-roll at another flashback quickly turned into genuine despair watching Root systematically dismantle Kabuto's world through Nono. It made me realize how utterly betrayed he must feel, not just by Danzo but by the very idea of trust, which explains so much of his present villainy. Itachi’s genjutsu, as harsh as it was, felt like the only way to finally force him to confront that heartbreaking manipulation.

Nono handing over her glasses to that utterly devastated kid was just gut-wrenching for me; I couldn't help but feel she was trying to impart some small bit of humanity, or even a piece of her own identity, in a world that had stripped him bare. It was such a profoundly sad moment, making me really question what kind of desperation leads to such a gesture.

Itachi’s Izanami on Kabuto felt so chillingly precise; I actually wondered if he was trying to save Kabuto in his own messed-up Uchiha way rather than just defeat him. That thought gave me a strange kind of satisfaction, seeing Kabuto finally forced to confront how truly lost he'd become.

Seeing Kabuto still rocking those glasses even after becoming this giant snake-man really made me think, like, does he even know who he is anymore? It's almost like he's clinging to that last shred of his old self, trying to make sense of all the power he's got now, but it's just so obvious it's not truly *him*.

EPISODE CONTEXT

Positioned at episode 335 of 500, this falls deep within the Fourth Great Ninja War arc during a critical stretch involving the Uchiha brothers' confrontation with Kabuto Yakushi. It follows the action-heavy 'Sibling Tag Team' episodes and pivots into reflection, bridging the gap between the physical clash and the upcoming revelations in 'Kabuto Yakushi,' where the consequences of this introspective pause will become clear. This is a canon transitional episode that prioritizes emotional and philosophical groundwork over spectacle.
