Yamato and his creepy facial expressions really made that opening ghost story feel different from the usual boat scenes

Yamato really stole the show with his scary face and his storytelling, even if the rest of the episode felt like a weird side quest while they travel

Watching Hishaku and Naruto argue over who has the bigger dream was pretty funny and seeing the ghost crew finally get their revenge on that crab felt good

The logic of Naruto actually punching a ghost and using rasengan on a giant crab makes zero sense but it is filler so you just have to accept it for this boat ride

I couldn't stop laughing at Naruto being so sick on the boat but then he gets all serious talking to Hishaku about their dreams of being captain and hokage

I thought it felt weird seeing ghosts in Naruto since it doesn't really fit the world but the unique animation style they used for Yamato's intro story was very creepy

I seriously didn't expect Yamato to be so good at telling ghost stories in the dark, but it was hilarious and totally set this spooky, kinda unsettling vibe for the whole boat trip. It felt like a classic ninja mission moment, but with a funnier twist.

Yamato, my goodness, I was losing it watching him effortlessly spook his squad – seriously, how does he manage to be more terrifying than any real phantom? And just as I was wiping tears of laughter, they unexpectedly dropped Hishaku’s past, and I was genuinely surprised by how much empathy I felt for a character I figured was just there for laughs.

Wow, I was genuinely impressed with that crab monster; it actually looked pretty cool for a filler creature, which I almost never expect from these episodes. Naruto's whole loud approach to communicating with the spirits felt so typical of him, making me grin because it just reinforces his stubborn, direct personality that I've seen countless times before.

Yamato getting all theatrical with his ghost stories and scaring everyone silly on that ship had me cracking up, and honestly, it completely flipped my initial skepticism about the whole haunted boat idea. I just loved seeing how much he enjoyed messing with them, making the entire situation feel way more fun than I expected.

I actually usually skip fillers but man, this one really had me creeped out for a second with that ghost ship vibe, and Yamato’s scary face totally made it for me; I just wish the rules about ghosts being able to touch stuff weren't so all over the place, it kinda pulled me out of the spooky mood.

My jaw dropped at the beginning; that monster design was genuinely creepy and so different from everything else! I was totally expecting some huge, dramatic fight sequence right then, which honestly left me a little confused when the tone shifted.

I actually got pretty hyped seeing Hishaku step up and save his ship from that giant monster, even if he's totally a one-off character. It made me wonder what kind of stories other side characters have, though it's kinda sad we won't see him again after such a cool moment.

I was so confused by the ghost crew who could talk even though they were dead, like, how does that even work when they're, well, not alive? Still, I gotta admit, the spooky vibe they set up for that whole detour was pretty effective and actually gave me some chills.

Naruto helping Hishaku finally move on really got to me; I didn't expect to get so choked up seeing that little ghost find peace after all he'd been through. It made me wonder if Naruto, with his own lonely past, just inherently understood that kid's pain in a way no one else could.

Yamato’s face when he was telling that spooky story, man, I genuinely felt a shiver run down my spine like he was possessed by the ghost he was talking about! I mean, what was going on in his head to contort his face like that, it completely caught me off guard and had me wanting to cover my eyes.

Dude, that faceless monster at the very start totally threw me off with its animation style; like, I genuinely thought it was super creepy, which is wild for a Naruto filler and honestly made me wonder why they put so much effort into that one weird scene.

I was genuinely touched by how Naruto didn't even hesitate to help Hishaku against that huge monster, even when it felt like a hopeless fight for the kid. Seeing those ghosts finally find peace together at the end really made me feel like Naruto’s presence truly calmed the storm for everyone involved.

Naruto, seriously, are you secretly a medium now with how many spirits you keep running into? This whole boat arc with the ghosts was such a bizarre detour for me, and I'm honestly just so tired of him getting sidetracked when he should be focusing on finding Sasuke. I just want the main story back!

The way the ship crew suddenly turned into skeletons totally caught me off guard, I actually yelped! This filler felt genuinely unsettling, and it had me thinking about some of the more horror-tinged moments from earlier in the series, which was a wild change of pace for a Naruto episode.

EPISODE CONTEXT

Sitting at episode 225 of 500, this falls squarely in a stretch of filler content between major canon arcs. It follows 'The Ninja of Benisu,' another standalone mission episode, and leads directly into 'Battleship Island,' continuing a loose string of maritime-themed filler adventures before the series returns to its main storyline.
