I was so impressed by Yamato making a whole submarine out of wood because that is such a creative use of his power

Yamato turning the entire ship into a submarine with wood style was the coolest thing he has done in a while

I know everyone hates the boat filler episodes, but seeing Naruto actually lead a successful mission without just brute forcing his way through was nice for once. The way he helped the islanders get revenge on those pirates felt like the old Naruto, and Yamato using wood style to make a submarine was easily the best thing to happen on this boat trip

Guy being out of the fight because of his motion sickness is funny, but I feel like they only did that so Naruto could do everything himself. It feels like a filler nerf for the big guy

Gataro had such a weird filler look and his voice was so annoying whenever he spoke during the battle

The pirates stealing the headband from Naruto was a shock and he definitely made them pay for it later

Naruto actually used his brain for once and came up with that geyser escape strategy which was better than his usual shadow clone spam

This single episode had better pirate action than those other shows with a thousand episodes and that is just the truth

Naruto, seriously, chasing those random pirates for his headband felt so beneath him after everything he's been through; I couldn't believe they dragged that out for so long. It just made me wonder if he ever stops to think about how far he's come from being a genin struggling with a simple clone jutsu.

When the pirate captain just kept going blow for blow with Naruto and Yamato, my jaw just dropped. I kept thinking, 'how is this guy even a challenge?' because it totally undercut all the impressive strength we usually see from them.

I honestly couldn't believe those guys just sailed off so easily after Guy only hit the floor; it just felt so cheap to make him look that weak for no real reason, especially when I know he's capable of so much more.

I genuinely didn't expect Yamato to just whip up a literal wooden submarine to get off that island, but honestly, it was the only part of the episode that felt like the fun, imaginative Naruto I grew up with. Seeing his wood-style used in such a hilariously practical and unexpected way really brought a smile to my face.

The battleship island was such a cool, unique place, but man, reading that journal about the natives being mistreated really bummed me out. It just felt so wrong, and it made me think about all the other places in their world where stuff like that probably happened, not just this one-off spot.

Seriously, I was so confused when some random pirate just snatched Naruto's headband; after everything he's been through, it just made him look so out of it and kinda weak, like c'mon man.

I was kinda baffled watching Yamato and Guy struggle with those pirates; I mean, come on, these guys have fought way tougher enemies, so it just felt like the plot was forcing them to hold back. And honestly, the whole island natives' journal story was pretty sad, it makes me wonder why they even bother with these one-off characters if we'll never see them again.

I just couldn't believe it when those random pirates actually managed to snatch Naruto's headband right off his head! Seriously, where was his usual lightning-fast reaction time, it almost made me groan because you could just tell it was filler.

Yamato turning that pirate ship into a sub with his Wood Style was such a genius move, I literally burst out laughing. Those poor pirates had absolutely no idea what was going on, and it just reminded me how creatively he can get out of a bind with that jutsu.

Ugh, I was so annoyed when Guy just punched the ground and let those pirates get away. It felt totally out of character for him, like, doesn't he usually move way faster than that?

Seriously, I was so surprised when some random pirates actually snatched Naruto's headband; like, shouldn't he be way too strong for that, especially when they just spent the whole episode running around a cave with people we'll probably never see again? It honestly bugged me how much trouble a ninja was having against those regular guys with their rock boat, and the animation just wasn't doing it any favors either.

When those pirates just snagged Naruto's headband, I couldn't help but feel a little cheated, you know? After all his growth and power-ups, it just felt so jarring and honestly, kinda disrespectful to his journey to have him look that vulnerable in a filler episode.

EPISODE CONTEXT

Episode 226 sits within the extended 'Paradise Life on a Boat' filler arc, following the ghost ship encounter in Episode 225 and continuing the team's prolonged sea voyage to the Land of Lightning. This stretch of filler episodes fills the gap between major canon arcs, with each installment presenting standalone adventures on the open water. Subsequent episodes continue this island-hopping format before the narrative eventually returns to mainline Shippuden storylines.
