I can't believe Itachi was actually the good guy and my whole life is a lie after that talk with Tobi

It hurts watching Sasuke stand on that cliff and cry after he realized he killed the only person who actually cared about him

Every single scene with Itachi from the start of the show feels completely new now that his true mission is out in the open

I felt sick to my stomach when I realized Danzo was the one who actually pushed for the massacre and took advantage of Itachi like that

I am actually shaking right now because the whole thing with Itachi and the elders was so messed up and he really gave up everything for Sasuke just to be hated by everyone he loved for years

Everything changes when Sasuke finds out he was just a puppet for the elders, and the revenge he wanted is actually a tragedy. Itachi played the villain perfectly and you realize he was tapping Sasuke on the forehead as a goodbye not a threat and now the village is the target because Sasuke is focusing all that pain on the leaf

My head is spinning because that fight with Sasuke was just a setup and Itachi was trying to save his brother from the mark the whole time

You spend years hating this man just to find out he was a double agent protecting the very place that ruined his life

Thinking about Itachi crying while he had to kill his parents is enough to make anyone lose their mind and he still loved Sasuke through all that

You finally find out the truth and it turns out the village elders are the real villains for forcing that kid into a massacre

The way Tobi just spills everything makes you wonder if he is telling the whole story, but the look on Itachi's face in those flashbacks feels too real to be a lie

Itachi carrying all that hate and dying a criminal, just to safeguard the Uchiha name and the Leaf, honestly makes me feel a profound sadness for him. I can't even begin to fathom the quiet resilience it must've taken to bear such an immense secret for so many years.

My stomach totally dropped listening to Tobi twist everything, and I'm so worried Sasuke is just gonna fall deeper into darkness after this. He’s already so consumed by grief and a desire for revenge, it feels like Tobi’s words are just the perfect bait for him to walk right into another trap, just like he did with Orochimaru.

Gosh, it just crushes me knowing Itachi carried the weight of being a traitor and a killer his whole life, enduring everyone's hatred, all for Sasuke's safety in the Leaf. I mean, thinking about him sacrificing everything, even his own reputation and peace of mind, so his little brother could grow up in peace just makes me so incredibly sad for him.

Suddenly realizing Itachi was actually weeping as he left the village after the massacre absolutely shattered my initial impression of him. My heart aches thinking about how much he must have suffered alone, deliberately pushing Sasuke away, which now feels less like cruelty and more like a twisted act of love to spare him further pain.

I was seriously choked up seeing Itachi finally smile as he was dying, knowing he'd sealed Orochimaru away and freed Sasuke from that awful curse mark – it just confirmed for me that even through all the darkness, he truly loved his brother all along.

My jaw dropped when I realized Itachi was a double agent all along, sacrificing everything for Sasuke and the village. It just makes me feel so much for both of them, and Sasuke's rage at the elders now feels completely earned, knowing the depths of his brother's tragedy.

My jaw just dropped realizing how Danzo and those elders cornered Itachi, practically making him slaughter his own clan to avert a wider war. It's wild to me that the 'honorable' Leaf Village could do something so absolutely horrific, it honestly makes me resent them even more than the Akatsuki at this point.

Tobi really laid out the Uchiha massacre story to Sasuke, and it just made me sick to see him twisting every single detail like that. I can't believe how perfectly he honed in on Sasuke's existing desire for revenge, essentially making him dance to his tune without even realizing it.

I seriously felt my jaw drop when they showed that forehead poke again; it wasn't just a gesture, but knowing Itachi's real reasons behind everything, man, it makes me question every single early episode, like my whole understanding of him was completely off.

EPISODE CONTEXT

"Truth" directly follows Episode 140, "Fate," where Madara Uchiha first began pulling back the curtain on the Uchiha clan's hidden history—this episode goes deeper into those revelations and their devastating impact on Sasuke's worldview. It serves as a critical pivot point in the series, transforming Sasuke's motivations and setting the trajectory for his decisions in the episodes that follow. Coming at episode 141 of 500, this lands squarely in a major inflection point for the overarching narrative, bridging the aftermath of one of Shippuden's most significant confrontations with the new conflicts Sasuke's changed perspective will ignite.
