I knew there was something more to Itachi, but finding out he was actually a hero who saved the village from a civil war hurts so much more now

Sasuke looks so broken and small sitting there while this masked guy tells him that the person he hated most was the one person who truly loved him

You can see the exact second Sasuke loses his mind when he realizes his whole life was a lie built on the blood of his own family

Itachi giving his eyes to Sasuke and setting that trap for Madara even from the grave shows how much he loved his brother despite everything he did

I am actually shaking right now because finding out Itachi was the good guy all along is too much to handle after Sasuke finally killed him

The elders are the real villains of this story, and seeing Danzo and those other two old people get away with ruining Itachi's life is making me sick

Madara talking about the history of the clans was the best way to explain why the Uchiha were always pushed into a corner by the village leaders

Tobi is clearly full of it and there is no way we can trust a guy in a mask telling a story that makes Sasuke want to burn everything down

My brain is melting and I cannot believe Itachi lived his entire life as a monster just so Sasuke could stay safe and the village could stay at peace and now Sasuke knows everything and he wants to destroy the leaf which makes sense but also is so tragic because it goes against everything his brother sacrificed his life for

I seriously cannot believe my entire understanding of Itachi, and frankly the whole Uchiha clan situation, just flipped completely in like twenty minutes. My heart just aches for him, knowing he carried that burden and sacrifice for so long, and I hate that he'll forever be remembered as a traitor by so many when he really deserved so much more.

Itachi must have felt so utterly alone, forced to make that impossible choice by the Leaf elders. I just can't wrap my head around how they could put such a heavy burden on a kid, only to then let him carry all the blame for their messed-up priorities. It makes me question if they ever truly understood the lasting damage they were causing.

Wait, so Itachi was a secret agent for the Leaf this whole time? My mind is reeling, and I can't even imagine the earth-shattering agony Sasuke's gonna feel when he finally learns his entire revenge quest was just a tragic, cruel lie. It's truly messed up that he got what he wanted, only for me to realize it meant absolutely nothing.

I still can't bring myself to trust Tobi, even though his whole spiel about Itachi being a spy for Konoha actually makes a lot of sense given everything we've seen. My gut is just screaming that there's something bigger he's not telling us, especially since he's always so sneaky about his true intentions.

Sasuke's face when Tobi laid out the truth about Itachi... my stomach dropped for him, seriously. After all that burning hatred he'd been carrying, to find out it was all a manipulation to protect him? I just kept thinking about all the choices he made because of that lie.

When Itachi killed his family because of the elders' orders, my heart just sank; thinking about him having to live with that choice and how he's acted since really makes me wonder what kind of hell he's been through.

It’s wild how Hashirama and Madara dreamt up Konoha together, but right from the start, I couldn't help but feel a pang of sadness knowing how quickly the Uchiha got pushed to the side. Like, seriously, did they ever stand a chance at true integration after that initial decision to relegate them? It makes all their later frustrations feel so justified, even if their methods went too far.

My jaw practically dropped seeing the historical depth of the Uchiha-Senju rivalry; it wasn't just a feud, but a literal generational trauma. It makes so much sense now why the Uchiha became so desperate and isolated, culminating in their ill-fated coup plan.

Ugh, seeing that forehead tap between them after the fight, it just twisted my gut knowing what it really meant; I always saw it as their special little gesture of affection, but realizing it was actually a final goodbye makes me rethink every single time Itachi ever did it.

Sasuke finally realizing the truth about Itachi's actions just broke me; how is he supposed to even process that he spent his entire life consumed by a lie? My stomach twists thinking about all the choices he made, believing he was avenging his clan, only for it to be a twisted misunderstanding from the start.

Wow, my jaw dropped when Tobi spilled the beans about Itachi being a double agent for the village during the Uchiha massacre. It just flips everything I thought I knew about him, and honestly, I feel a pang of sadness realizing what he must have truly sacrificed.

EPISODE CONTEXT

Directly following 'The Mystery of Tobi,' where Sasuke's encounter with Madara Uchiha sets the stage for this pivotal exchange, 'Fate' serves as the critical exposition episode that unpacks the Uchiha clan's deepest conflicts and hidden history. This is a canon-essential chapter that recontextualizes major character motivations established across hundreds of episodes. It feeds directly into the next episode, 'Truth,' where the fallout from these revelations begins steering Sasuke's trajectory in a dramatically altered direction.
