EPISODE REVIEWS

Things get very serious in this one. We find out that the older Nanaka left some secret messages for her younger self. The big school play finally happens and Nanaka has to save the day. Nenji starts to worry about what will happen to her soon.

Episode 10 continues Nanaka's growth in a meaningful way. Seeing the 17-year-old Nanaka become aware of her 6-year-old self and learn to communicate with her was surprisingly creative for a 2003 anime. A crisis becomes an opportunity, and that opportunity leads to real character growth.

This was a chaotic episode as the plot was taking a twist and turn. Somehow, the tone was worrying, but as the plot progressed, the mood became miraculous. The pacing was slower than usual in this ep, particularly on the spacing of Nanaka, and as the story thickened, it was getting predictable. The music during the play was remarkably great, though.
