As the series opener of a 26-episode run, this episode is purely foundational. Ikuto's stranding on the island is the inciting event everything else builds from. There is nothing preceding it, and it sets up the central dynamic: one ordinary guy navigating a society that has never encountered a man. The episodes ahead will expand on Ikuto's adaptation to island life and deepen his relationships with Suzu and the wider cast.
