I loved this episode! The fights were intense, high-stakes, and the animation was chef’s kiss as always. Iida’s character development was shown subtly, and I think that made it even better. The fourth round is definitely going to be chaotic, I can already tell!

That ending didn’t feel unsatisfying at all. It was well-thought-out and naturally executed instead of feeling forced. The battle of endurance between Todoroki and Tetsutetsu was incredible and seriously thrilling to watch.

This fight was actually amazing, what the heck? It was nerve-wracking and really kept me on the edge of my seat. Seeing Todoroki and Iida’s character development here was heartwarming 🥹, especially Iida’s. The next fight’s gonna be booming—and I mean that literally.

Episode Context

Episode 8 wraps up the third match in the Joint Training Arc, which has been the season's central framework since the early episodes, systematically spotlighting different student teams in structured combat. The previous episode established the matchups and raised the stakes for Iida and Todoroki's squads, and this episode delivers the resolution. With three matches now complete, the arc escalates next as Bakugo steps into the ring, promising an even more explosive fourth round.
