It's really good! Entertaining to watch if you're a cosplayer. It actually helped me with a lot of my cosplays like teaching me how to make proper hair vents, how to use face tape, how to wash wigs, etc. The anim itself is great an the animation is great.

Synopsis
A reserved high school kid whose entire world revolves around crafting traditional hina dolls, Wakana Gojou isn't the type to bring up his hobby in casual conversation. He's kept it hidden for years after being made fun of as a child, so he mostly keeps to himself. Then Marin Kitagawa, one of the most popular girls in class, catches him sewing in the home ec room after school. Instead of being weirded out, she's thrilled, because Marin is deep into cosplay and has zero idea how to make her own costumes. She ropes him into helping her bring her favorite characters to life, and what starts as a creative partnership slowly turns into something more. The dynamic between them is what carries this whole show. Marin is unapologetically herself — loud about what she loves, zero shame — and watching Gojou gradually open up around her feels genuine rather than forced. CloverWorks did a gorgeous job with the animation, and the way the series digs into the actual process of cosplay crafting gives it a texture most romance anime skip over. It's a 12-episode TV series based on a seinen manga, so the pacing is tight and the humor leans a bit more mature without going overboard. If you liked the natural chemistry in Horimiya or the way Toradora! builds its central relationship through unlikely circumstances, this hits a similar sweet spot. Warm, funny, and surprisingly wholesome for how often Marin pushes Gojou out of his comfort zone.

I'll drop everything for Marin. She's sooooo beautiful 😭
The final episode for the first season of My Dress-Up Darling feels warm, comforting, and emotionally satisfying. However, I do feel slightly frustrated because Wakana Gojo and Marin Kitagawa still aren’t officially together yet. I was eager to watch the second season for more Gojo and Marin’s interaction. Gojo was once someone who doubted himself but began to see that his passion for sewing actually brings happiness to others and Marin plays a big role in this change. Her excitement for cosplay and constant encouragement help Gojo feel more confident and valued. Marin doesn’t just admire his work but she appreciates his effort, patience, and kindness. This deeper feeling and acknowledgement helps strengthen their emotional bond in a very natural way. Visually, the use of warm lighting and soft color tones gives off the feeling of comfort and intimacy. Marin looks exceptionally beautiful! the art is amazing. Their last interaction at the carnival highlights that Marin truly enjoys his company and wishes to spend more time with him in the future. Don’t forget to watch the post credit scene! It will definitely make you squeal because I did.
This episode is SPICY, literally a climax of the season for the main duo. The whole episode was a built up of ecchi, as a note.
