My Awkward Senpai
Oshimeter
Synopsis
As the ace of her company's publicity department, Azusa Kannawa is efficient, reliable, and someone everyone finds slightly terrifying. The thing is, she's not actually tough. She's just really, really bad at talking to people and has been covering it up with a stone-cold poker face for years. It works fine until Yuu Kamegawa, a new hire, gets assigned to her as a mentee, and suddenly she has to interact with someone daily who isn't fooled by the act at all. What follows is this 12-episode TV series of small, grounded moments: Azusa trying way too hard to seem approachable and overshooting it, Yuu quietly figuring out what she actually means versus what she says, and the two of them slowly developing something that neither is ready to name yet. The comedy here comes from genuine awkwardness rather than slapstick or misunderstandings played for drama, which makes the romantic moments land with more weight when they arrive. If you liked Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku or My Senpai is Annoying, this hits a similar frequency: adult characters, office setting, low stakes but high charm. It's closer in feel to Servant × Service with its workplace ensemble vibe, though the focus stays tighter on the central pair. Based on a seinen manga and animated by Studio Elle, it's a quiet rom-com that doesn't need big setpieces because the character work does all the heavy lifting.

After all that you guys want to become friends?? That was the total opposite of progress and honestly quite disappointing. Not sure when the story is going to progress or even they’ll even get together at this point.
Drunken truth are always funny but misunderstanding jealousy is not. Glad that they’re progressing however little it was. Love how Kankaiji played him so he could be honest with his feelings tho.
After the slow burn of watching the pair grow closer, I'm not surprised we don't get much payoff in the end. It really just felt like friends holding hands. The connection might've been stronger if Kamegawa had a bit more confidence. It did have a cute and cozy conclusion!
Kannawa's thoughtfulness was so wholesome and sweet to see when planning Kamegawa's birthday! I liked Kamegawa being unexpectedly brought into the mix, rather than everything going smoothly. Ending on an exciting cliffhanger built up anticipation too!
When you think things can't get much slower... There's some wholesomeness to Kannawa taking care of Kamegawa when he is sick, but he barely even acts it, making it feel like they're mostly just hanging out like normal. There is one heartwarming moment that made them feel closer!
This episode was super cute! The tension is rising with a mystery girl being included. I absolutely loved the addition of Kankaiji as it seemed there was going to be another love interest; however, I was disappointed at the plot twist at the end, though it was still entertaining.
Loved seeing the teamwork for Kamegawa's first project! The cute maid cafe theme is captured well with the fun food, prizes, performances, and adorable outfits. Kamegawa opens up to Kannawa now that he's learned so much about her, which is a really sweet and wholesome moment.
This episode delivers a cozy conclusion focusing on the confession between Kannawa and Kamegawa. A satisfying pay off of the slow pace office romance. I also like that they did not stretch it or make a drawn out drama they focus on their genuine feelings for each other.
We got to see Kannawa's growing confidence between her and Kamegawa. A massive cliffhanger after Kannawa give her present to Kamegawa for his birthday.
A heartwarming episode as Kannawa visited Kamegawa. The episode features cute and cozy scenes featuring blushing from Kannawa and Kamegawa. It feels like they're being more genuinely connected rather than just senpai and kouhai.
Jealousy sparked as Kannawa see a woman hold Kamegawa's arm. We also got introduce to a new character Kankaiji acting like a wingman to push the two closer. The two lead finally move closer from their professional barrier both stating desire for more than senpa, kouhai.
Opening of Kamegawa's first project a collab cafe. The episode highlights Kannawa's clumsy and awkward nature while in a cute maid costume.
Fake boyfriend episode as Kannawa's attempt to lie about having a boyfriend when her mom suddenly visited her. They slowly got to know each other before meeting Kannaw's mom leading to their growing closeness. We also got to know Kannawa form her mom's perspecitve.
Another tame episode. Kannawa's mom is really likable, I wish there were more activities with her and the duo than just going to dinner! Kamegawa also shows much more maturity, which definitely helps develop the story, proving he's not always shy and formal.
Again, sadly, SO many missed opportunities, especially in a romantic setting! I just wanted Kamegawa and Kannawa to lock eyes while he fixed her geta strap or while watching the fireworks at least. We only have 12 episodes in this series, the tension should be way higher by now!
What a missed opportunity! Kamegawa and Kannawa are alone in the office together trapped by the typhoon and yet nothing seems to progress between them. Even when there's a generically cute moment, I just don't feel the romance. Kannawa putting on Kamegawa's coat was cute, though!
We got introduce to a new girl Hotta a newbie same as Kamegawa. It's a festival episode we got Hotta and Kannawa in their cute yukata dress. I really like that they did not go to a classic love rival cliche but rather focus on interaction between senpai and kouhai.
The episode features a scene as they bring their umbrellas closer adding romantic highlights for the pair. As Kannawa starts recognizing Kamegawa a romantic interest rather than just a kouhai.
Beach episode as they go to Okinawa for a shoot. This episode highlights the growing bond between Kannawa and Kamegawa. Kannawa starts to show more of her vulnerability.
This episode really show Kannawa awkward cuteness from the start. We start to see progress between the two as Kamegawa realizes that Kanawa's strictness is actually a form of caring and Kannawa being protective of Kamegawa but eventually fumble.
