One of the more emotional early episodes. The hospital visit changes the atmosphere completely, and learning more about Nikaidou adds depth to a character who previously seemed easy to dislike.

Even if the actual baseball practice felt a bit mid and the pacing dragged, the subtle team chemistry is fire. It’s a total background info dump, but lowkey necessary for the tournament plot later on. Genuinely loving the classic Adachi vibe.

This episode has a glimpse of lore and is a story-building episode. The sound effects are used effectively. This episode also shows how protective the brothers are of their sister, which I find adorable. The pacing is just right, and the animation and visuals remain good.
