i am getting so curious about his adoptive sister and what her actual lore is with that married man. the visuals and graphics somehow just keep getting better and better with every single eps

the visual fidelity remains consistently flawless. focusing the narrative on the veteran players provided a highly satisfying victory over gotou, while simultaneously teasing the complex, underlying familial drama regarding the adoptive sister.

the animation is sooo perfect, what more can i even say. watching the old dude beat gotou was incredibly satisfying. desperately need to know the tea on his sister and how she got involved with a married man tho

I find this episode to be just a normal one. It shows the story of the other characters and how they also tend to play their game. Rei has been having a lot of character development lately; he is now very intentional with playing Shogi.

We get a clearer glimpse at the complicated relationship between Rei and Kyouko as Gotou and Shimada slug it out between the two in the semi-finals of the tournament. Rei attempts to catch up with his school duties as Hayashida attempts to help him.

Ashamed of his own weakness after the overwhelming defeat against Shimada, Kiriyama can’t face his friends, his family, not even himself. But regardless, the Shishi-ou Tournament continues with a 3 matches final between Shimada and Gotou.

The match in this episode looks very serious and tense. Now shogi looks very interesting to me. It seems like I will really learn to play shogi.

Again adds emotional depth. The main character begins to think more about his life. It's slow but important.

What a great episode! The intense fight really got me hyped. The details every time a piece is placed make it even more immersive. That aside, Nikaidou’s reason is really respectable. Overall, amazing—the story, the style and animation, and the narration are all amazing.
