Usui is so mature for his age that him acting like the teenage boy is honestly refreshing. His priority, while selfish is also very honest even against Misaki. The episode also becomes a pivotal point for their relationships as Misaki began to notice her own feelings more and accepts Usui's affection even if she hasn't give him an answer of her own feelings.

Episode Context

Sitting just past the midpoint of the 26-episode run, this episode continues the beach vacation arc that began in Episode 16, using a more relaxed setting to deepen the Misaki-Usui dynamic outside the usual school environment. The shift in Usui's role from ally to opponent mirrors the series' ongoing exploration of their complicated push-and-pull relationship. This stretch of lighter episodes builds foundational chemistry that the back half of the season will leverage for more emotionally charged developments.
