Fav's Grim Announcement
The serene virtual temple setting quickly dissolves into unease as Fav, the enigmatic mascot, delivers unsettling news. He declares that Nabuka City's magical girl population must be halved, a chilling demand to reduce their numbers from sixteen to eight. The girls, among them Snow White, La Pucelle, Nemurin, and Ripple, react with a mix of confusion and growing dread. Fav, always glib, clarifies the weekly ranking system will be based on 'Magical Candy' collection, a seemingly innocuous metric for a deadly game.
Ripple's Cynicism
Alone on a rooftop, Ripple consults her smartphone, tracking the new rankings and the intense competition. Fav hovers nearby, offering cheerful but unnerving commentary on other girls' high activity. Ripple voices her frustration with this sudden, cutthroat shift, her skepticism a stark contrast to Fav's playful evasiveness. He explains the brutal logistics: the girl with the fewest candies will be 'removed,' a necessary 'version up' for the project, he claims.
An Unlikely Partnership
Top Speed arrives with a flourish on her broom, startling Ripple with her boisterous energy. Despite Ripple's attempts to push her away, Top Speed insists on working together, seeing efficiency in a partnership. A flashback reveals their bond's origin: a lonely, uncomfortable Ripple in her early magical girl days, approached by a persistently kind Top Speed. Their flight across the city, checking their candy counts, solidifies their reluctant alliance, born of need and persistent warmth.
Calamity Mary's Warning Shot
The menacing figure of Calamity Mary emerges, a cowgirl-inspired magical girl with an aura of pure malice. She mocks Ripple and Top Speed, threatening them if they dare to interfere with her. Ripple's hand instinctively reaches for her weapon, sensing the impending danger. Mary, without hesitation, draws a revolver and fires, forcing Ripple to deflect the bullet with her blade. Mary's cackling laughter as she vanishes confirms her status as a true antagonist, relishing the thrill of violence.
Kano's Isolated Reality
The magical transformation fades, revealing Ripple as Kano Sazanami, alone in her dimly lit apartment. The stark contrast between her two lives is palpable. She scrolls through her phone, finding ignored messages from her mother, pleas for her to return home. Kano coldly deletes them, her face devoid of emotion. Her real-world isolation is profound, a silent testament to a life she seems desperate to escape or ignore.
Snow White's Pure Heart
A massive apartment fire becomes the stage for Snow White and La Pucelle to demonstrate their heroic resolve. Snow White, hearing the cries of the trapped, guides La Pucelle through the inferno to rescue an elderly couple. La Pucelle, with his great sword, carves a path through the debris. Perched on a transmission tower afterward, Snow White's candy count skyrockets, yet she remains focused solely on helping others, her genuine desire to do good contrasting sharply with the game's new rules. La Pucelle, her loyal friend, watches with concern, aware of the dangers her innocence might invite.
Nemurin's Dream World
In the Magical Girl Chat Room, Snow White encounters Nemurin, who embodies her dream-weaving magic. Nemurin explains her ability to enter and manipulate dreams, using it to help others overcome their nightmares. She admits to spending most of her time in this dream realm, finding it a fulfilling escape from reality. Nemurin tells Snow White that being a magical girl is the best thing that ever happened to her, allowing her to be the hero she always wanted to be without the stress of the real world.
The Cost of Dreams
Nemurin dives into a young boy's nightmare, transforming into a giant to battle a fire-breathing monster. Her 'Nemurin Beam' purifies the creature, turning it into a harmless lizard, and she encourages the boy, telling him he is brave. This act of pure, selfless kindness fills her with joy, and she revels in the massive pile of 'Magical Candy' she accumulates. However, Fav appears, delivering a chilling reality: dream candies do not count toward her real-world ranking, leaving Nemurin dangerously unaware of the true peril she faces.
Ruler's Reign of Fear
Ruler holds a tyrannical meeting with her team, demanding to know their candy totals. She explodes in fury when Swim Swim, Tama, and the Peaky Angels report dismal numbers. Ruler berates them, calling them useless and incompetent, threatening physical punishment if they don't improve. Her fear of personal failure drives her to brutalize her subordinates, creating an atmosphere of intense pressure and terror within her group. Tama cowers, while Swim Swim remains unsettlingly silent.
Last-Minute Dread
As the first elimination deadline looms, Snow White and La Pucelle discuss their deep concern for the other girls. Snow White is particularly worried about Nemurin, knowing her friend has been inactive in the real city. Checking the ranking board, they see Nemurin indeed in last place with zero real-world candies. Snow White feels a pang of guilt, wondering if she should have shared some of her own earnings. The digital countdown ticks ominously towards midnight, a silent harbinger of an unknown fate.
The First Deletion
In the final minutes before the deadline, the girls gather in the chat room to say their goodbyes to Nemurin. Sister Nana offers kind words, visibly distraught. Nemurin, still cheerfully oblivious, expresses her excitement for 'retirement' and sleeping as much as she pleases. As the clock strikes midnight, her avatar shimmers, fragments, and then vanishes. A cold system notification appears: 'Nemurin has been deleted.' A heavy, unsettling silence falls over the remaining girls.
Nemurin's Unwitting Exit
The scene shifts to the real world, where Nemu Sanjou, Nemurin's true identity, lies in her bed, surrounded by magical girl merchandise. She notes the disappearance of her app and her inability to transform, accepting it with a shrug. A NEET, Nemu seems unfazed, seeing it as just another door closing. Her casual acceptance of her 'retirement' from the game highlights her tragic unawareness of the true stakes.
A Final Kind Act
Falling back asleep, Nemu enters one last dream, a beautiful kingdom where she encounters a crying girl. The girl feels inadequate, unworthy of being a princess. With gentle kindness, Nemurin wipes her tears and offers a final, heartfelt piece of advice: 'Every girl is a princess in her own way.' As the girl's eyes fill with hope, Nemurin's form begins to fade into a bright, white light, her last act a selfless, comforting gesture in the realm she loved most.
The Price of Deletion
Nemu's mother calls out to her, urging her to wake for a job interview. Receiving no answer, she enters the room, her concern quickly turning to panic as she finds Nemu unresponsive. The mother tries to rouse her, but Nemu's body is limp and cold. The horrifying truth is revealed: Nemu Sanjou has died in her sleep from an unexplained heart attack, a direct consequence of her 'deletion' from the game. Her mother's screams echo through the house, marking the true, brutal price of the Magical Girl Raising Project.
EPISODE REVIEWS

This episode was still catchy for me, but it left me wanting more. I still don’t really understand what happened to Nemu, so I hope it gets explained in the next episode.
