Macross Frontier Episode 8: High School Queen

This is clearly a breather episode, and a well deserved one for all the characters involved in the crisis from the previous ones. It's kind of neat that we see another side of the main cast that we thought were beyond them. This balances out all the grimness from the narrative.

A lighthearted and mostly fan-service episode that leans into comedy and school life, while also showing the central relationships and rivalries between Alto, Ranka and Sheryl. You can comfortably skip this episode but you'll miss the nuances of the main characters after. 6.5/10
