I love the Middle East aesthetics integrated with clankers. The story is developing further & stakes are getting high & everyone has their part to play. A civil war is brewing during a World War? Interesting. Nene is a very smart lady, she caught Alek's bluff in a second.

This was yet again another amazing episode. I love all the scenes with the Brits and Sharp or the Doctor, but Alek and Klopp are soon cringe though haha.

The markets in Istanbul looked so vibrant, I loved how Alek kept getting distracted by the street food while they were on a literal mission. Deryn looked so uncomfortable in that formal vest, seeing her struggle with the local customs while keeping her guard up was gold.

Episode Context

Leviathan hits its midseason stride with an episode that trades aerial action for ground-level tension. The setting shifts to Istanbul, and with it comes a deliberate, slower pace built around diplomatic maneuvering and the dangerous art of reading a room. Expect a thick atmosphere of espionage and political gamesmanship as Deryn Sharp and Dr. Nora Barlow engage with Ottoman power structures, while Prince Alek finds himself pulled into a more personal web of intrigue. The tone is suspenseful and layered, formal meetings carry unspoken threats, and new faces demand careful judgment. Themes of loyalty, identity, and the cost of trust take center stage. This is a chess-piece episode: no one makes a sudden move, but every glance and word repositions the board for what's coming next.
