Great display of comrade, sacrifice, integration & belief. Alek & Deryn are getting closer & their developing bond gives hope to the future between Clunkers & Darwinist, but they still need to work on trust. CGI is growing on me and I think it is a good choice for this series.

What I found funny was that it was later in the episode, they have stopped to take a break and they apparently had monsters on board they didn't think to toss to lighten the load.

Alek trying to figure out that message from his dad while hiding in the snowy ruins was so stressful, you can really see the pressure getting to him. The way Deryn looked at the sunset from the observation deck felt like a rare peaceful moment before things get crazy.

Episode Context

Episode 4 hits the throttle hard. The Leviathan is under direct threat, and the crew has no room for hesitation. Expect a tense, adrenaline-driven installment where survival demands that old prejudices get shelved fast. Alek finds himself deeper in the Darwinist world, and the friction between Clanker engineering and bio-organic technology becomes less philosophical and more life-or-death. Deryn, Dr. Nora Barlow, and Count Volger all play critical roles as the group scrambles for solutions under pressure. The pacing is brisk and urgent, leaning into strategic problem-solving rather than pure action spectacle. Thematically, this is about trust being forged not through words but through necessity. Orange's animation work carries the weight of the moment, making the hybrid sci-fi setting feel genuinely perilous. A strong mid-early-season escalation point.
