The story is set in WW1 but with big robots & giant creatures. The animation is CGI, but the visuals were captivating. Interesting to see two kids in war in this kind of world setting. The pace was a little slow, but I have high hopes for this.

That opening with the Stormwalker in the rain was so intense, especially when Alek almost tripped over that massive tree root. I really felt for him when he realized the truth about his parents while still being stuck in that cramped cockpit.

Episode Context

As episode one of twelve, 'Into the Storm' is pure foundation, establishing the dual-protagonist structure, the steampunk-meets-WWI setting, and the ideological fault lines that will drive the entire season. No prior episodes to build on; everything here is introduction by design. It feeds directly into 'Prelude to War,' where the geopolitical tensions crystallize and Aleksandar's and Deryn's paths begin converging toward inevitable collision.
