EPISODE REVIEWS

It's a bittersweet episode. I see that we're transitioning from one arc to another and it feels like whiplash with such a sudden change, but with an eight episode season that makes sense.

This episode is a breather. Shigure takes shore leave in Sasebo before the next stage of the war. We get to see civilian life something the first season never really showed and it makes the stakes feel more real. These girls aren't just fighting for a base; they're fighting for regular people living normal lives.

A calmer and trasition episode, giving closure to the first arc. We got to see a unique and first time perspective to what happens after a Kanmusu is unable to continue fighting and a glance at the current civilization state. Writing is top-tier here, not dialogue wise but using subtle gestures and hint on the animation instead.
