KanColle Season 2: Let's Meet at Sea

Right from the start, the tone they were setting...is a bit unsettling. There's a lot going on in this episode, and there for sure is not enough episodes in this season to flesh out all the characters in this show..which is understandable but unfortunate. I was a bit overstimulated with the number of groups we were supposed to follow but it was nice to see the battleship information at the end of the show and I got some peace of mind seeing everyone at the end! 7/10 for those that are not familiar with battleships (or just for me in general)

Seeing Mogami and Shigure together again made me happy. Big changes are coming for Shigure and it was nice to see all that she's gone through to get here.

Great fight scenes, loved the teamwork of the girls, and the tense vibe was a great point for the episode overall. Still nothing to write about plotwise, but it's a nice action show.

The introduction of the new squad is quite amusing, it's sweet to see how open the members are with each other since it really is about life and death. They don't waste time in any drama and everyone seems to be aiming to give it their best. Visuals and music are great as usual as well.

It's a bittersweet episode. I see that we're transitioning from one arc to another and it feels like whiplash with such a sudden change, but with an eight episode season that makes sense.

The battle starts feeling real this episode with the damages and the tone of the show. Additionally, the coloring and music this episode was phenomenal! Was at the edge of my seat, type of episode.

The tone set was great and we get an introduction of what's next to come in this mission and the other striking team, which is interesting. Again, amazing music and still a decent watch with the visuals

That was intense...from the expectation of the cover, though I do appreciate the tone between the team members in the show. The music direction is phenomenal, and the visuals are great! The plot is nothing to write about in my opinion bu the visuals and music make it worth watching

This finale is a MESS. The pacing is all over the place. The Allied fleet cameo is pointless. The death but not really ending feels like a cop-out. I also kind of respect what they were trying to do. The reincarnation ending is actually quite beautiful seeing the girls living peaceful lives after everything they went through . The memorial slides are a genuine tribute to the real ships.

Episode 7 is the best of the season. The Shigure upgrade sequence is genuinely moving, and the emotional weight of her character arc is finally starting to land. The production delays are frustrating, but the episode itself is solid. That said, the tonal issues are still there. I would recomend it to watch.

This is the best episode of the season. The escort mission has real stakes. The historical weight is palpable. Shigure avoiding her historical death is a genuine moment of victory. And the subtle touches like Shigure asking about the cargo show the attention to historical detail that this season does well. But the production mess is frustrating. The delays, the dragged out pacing, the "retirement" instead of death it all adds up to a show that could have been amazing but keeps tripping over its own feet.

This episode is a mixed bag. The training scenes are genuinely interesting for game fans, and the Admiral's appearance is a welcome addition. But the emotional core of the episode Shigure's grief falls flat because the show already showed us that everyone survived. The attempt to create filler to sell sadness when the characters aren't really gone feels hollow.

This episode is a breather. Shigure takes shore leave in Sasebo before the next stage of the war. We get to see civilian life something the first season never really showed and it makes the stakes feel more real. These girls aren't just fighting for a base; they're fighting for regular people living normal lives.

This is a pivotal episode. The battle is intense, the losses are real, and the historical weight is palpable. Fusou and Yamashiro's decommissioning is a powerful moment two beloved battleships walking away from the war. But the episode's pacing is a mess. The action is breakneck, then it grinds to a halt, then it speeds up again. And the emotional impact doesn't quite land the way it should. You know this is supposed to be tragic, but you don't feel it the way you should.

Shigure and the rest of the fleet are preparing to put Plan 2 into action. The 1st Striking Force 3rd Division is heading for the Surigao Strait, and the weight of the mission is already starting to be felt.Episode 2 is where they actually start moving toward the inevitable. The fleet is taking on supplies and equipment, and there's a sense of finality to it all. This isn't a training exercise or a routine patrol. This is the real thing.

This is a different beast from Season 1. If you were hoping for more lighthearted slice-of-life with shipgirl antics, you're in the wrong place. This is a war drama about a suicide mission, and the weight of that decision hangs over everything.

Argh, what is this complicated bittersweet feelings?! The ending ambiguity really tears me apart as it didn't really give us closure is it a continuation or a completely different universe? who knows, but I can say I am happy with it. The tribute given at the end of the episode give WW2 nerds like me a warm hearted feeling...

Ah, they really got short-handed. 8 episodes is hardly enough to flesh out the characters properly so even this penultimate feels a little lacking. The tension, ante, and emotional depth is there but the presentation got cut off by the limited air time. Shigure, equipped with new gear is off to turn the tides.

I've started comparing season 1 and season 2 combat scenes side-by-side, realized now it has a much more bleak and mature coloring to it. I didn't expect to hear metal-rock OST on this episode though, felt like I was on call of duty LMAO. Pace, animation, and story writing stays high-quality. I do wish the dialogues and voice acting to have some depth though.

A new start for Shigure as new characters are getting introduced one after another, so far Yukikaze is the most eye-catching with her unique and fresh chemistry with Shigure. Pace feels a little slow, but I consider this one serves as a transition and filler before getting into the main conflict so I can look the other way.
