EPISODE REVIEWS

I really loved the Shiro, Akatsuki, Suzuran dynamic here. Akatsuki secretly being a softie for his sister is honestly adorable. The episode gives both him and Suzuran more depth while also expanding Shiro's character. I really enjoyed their chemistry. To nitpick a little, I am a bit disappointed by how quickly this moves. I also wish the anime explained the shy Kappa better.

This episode is the most strong headed Aoi has been, and I only wish we see more of her unhinged side of hers. The story of Shiro's life continued to be the most interesting part about this series as the mystery of why Aoi became a collateral deepens. (Also, Tomokazu perform perfectly as a spoiled rich stalker, but I keep seeing Gintoki in his voice because they have the same level of patheticness). There's something extremely heartfelt in Suzuran devotion to her parent figure that her character send off gave great satisfaction instead of the type of supporting character that gets sidelined once her story is done. Great story.
