Kaguya-sama: Love Is War - Stairway to Adulthood

After enduring three full seasons of Kaguya and Shirogane refusing to confess their feelings, turning every interaction into a psychological warfare campaign, this TV special finally arrives, picking up years later, with Kaguya flipping through an old photo album and looking back on the early days of actually dating Shirogane after all that buildup. The flashback structure works surprisingly well: you get these warm, slightly embarrassing memories of two people who were so used to scheming against each other that they have no idea how to just be a normal couple. It's got that same comedic energy the series is known for, but filtered through a nostalgic lens that hits different when you've been following these characters for a while. A-1 Pictures keeps the animation sharp, and Masayuki Suzuki shows up with another banger track, because of course he does. At one episode, it's not a huge time commitment: think of it as a really satisfying epilogue that fills in the gap between the confession and wherever these two ended up as adults. If you enjoyed the romantic payoff in shows like Horimiya or the character dynamics in My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU, this special captures that same feeling of watching people you care about figure things out.
