Synopsis
A particular kind of heartache hits when you're months away from graduation and everything suddenly feels temporary, every conversation, every walk home, every unreturned text. Just Because! lives in that feeling for 12 episodes and never lets go. Eita Izumi transfers back to his old hometown during the winter of his third year of high school, and his return stirs up things his former classmates had quietly buried. Mio Natsume still carries feelings she never acted on. Haruto Souma is clinging to baseball as his last excuse to avoid dealing with his own emotions. Hazuki Morikawa keeps to herself in the concert band. And Ena Komiya, a second-year trying to save the photography club, gets pulled into the orbit of people she barely knows but can't stop watching through her camera lens. Nobody here makes grand confessions or dramatic gestures. They send LINE messages and delete them. They study for entrance exams while pretending the real weight on their chest is about college apps. The pacing is slow and deliberate, the animation quiet and atmospheric, and the soundtrack knows exactly when to be gentle and when to pull back entirely. Campur aduk banget perasaan di final episode ini, ada yang bikin perasaan hangat, ada yang sedih, dan diakhiri dengan perasaan lega dan tulus. Cuma memang agak menggantung sedikit ya. Tapi overall bagus, musik pengantar dan animasinya juga support banget untuk episode ini.
Natsume dan Izumi seperti lagi main kejar-kejaran, memang rumit relationship mereka nih dan penonton harus sabar 😅 Seneng juga sih tiap karakter sudah membuat keputusan dihubungan mereka, cuma satu aja yang masih menggantung dan bikin penasaran.
Ada character development disini yang menunjukan kedewasaan mereka. Animasinya juga cocok sama vibe kali ini yang agak sendu. Cuma perkembangan relationship di beberapa karakter memang slow dan butuh kesabaran sampai akhir.
Oke, sepertinya Natsume sudah mulai memantapkan perasaannya. Karakter-karakter lain juga masih berjuang sama perasaannya. Jadi sejauh ini pacingnya maju-mundur, vibe nya terasa tenang. Keputusan tiap karakter akan jadi perubahan penting nanti.
Suka sih pas Izumi dkk lagi pada ngumpul bareng, dynamic nya lebih kerasa natural dan pure persahabatan. Disisi lain Komiya juga lagi berjuang sama perasaannya, dan ada sedikit cute moment. Eps ini vibe nya cukup santai, tapi kaget juga sama perubahan Morikawa diakhir 😅
Fokus ke Izumi dan Natsume, dynamic mereka oke sebenernya tapi kayak ada yang mengganjal. Kita semua udah tau ya Natsume selama ini suka sama siapa, tapi karena konflik perasaannya makin menjadi, dia malah bikin plot twist yang bikin heran. Makin penasaran sama relationship mereka jadinya gimana 🤔
Setiap karakter masih growing jadi di episode ini masih keliatan struggle dan keraguan untuk selesaiin masalah. Relationship makin rumit dan bahkan ada yang mulai konflik sama perasaannya sendiri. Dynamic karakter masih maju-mundur, dan vibe nya sedikit uneasy disini.
Episode ini kerasa vibe nya tuh uneasy gara-gara hal yang terjadi di episode sebelumnya. Dynamic karakter jadi awkward tapi disini nunjukin cara mereka ngatasin struggle nya masing-masing. Suka juga dengan heartwarming moment antara Souma dan ibunya. Animasi sejauh ini support dengan baik.
Disini keliatan Souma itu karakter yang berjuang banget buat dapetin cintanya, tapi memang tidak semulus itu guys dan masih penasaran juga dengan alasan dibalik itu. Izumi dan Natsume dynamic nya keliatan natural banget. Eps ini diakhiri dengan vibe yang emotional dan cukup berat.
Comedy nya lumayan dapet nih di episode ini. Gak ada yang terlalu spesial tapi vibe nya terasa tenang dan lebih fokus nunjukin dynamic karakter yang makin dekat. Masih penasaran apa peran Komiya disini, apakah cuma side character di circle pertemanan atau malah orang ketiga? 🤔
OST nya baru ada di eps 2 dan lumayan bagus. Baru ke spill nih ternyata relationshipnya cukup rumit, lumayan clear storyline nya sejauh ini tapi mungkin ada peran karakter lain yang belum jelas. Pacingnya meningkat tapi gak yang rushed gitu. Worth to watch dan bikin penasaran.
Untuk episode pertama, menurutku pengenalan karakternya kurang kuat. Animasi bagus seperti genre romance pada umumnya, tapi visual karakter sedikit kurang oke kalo into banget sama karakter ikemen hehe. Pacing terasa cukup slow. Agak menggantung diakhir, tapi bikin penasaran!
Finale was kind of meh for me, I expected more for Izumi and Natsume. It was an okay finale but it could have ended better with a bang!!!
This episode sets the mood for the season finale. Beautiful pacing and storytelling which keeps you wanting for more.

The pacing of this show is still steady though a lot is at stake between the characters. The emotional build up for the final episodes are also reaching its climax. I'm looking forward to the last 3 episodes.
