EPISODE REVIEWS

We get to see some good character development for Jubei, which adds depth to the story. However, the pacing feels a little slow at times, making the episode drag in certain parts.

This one felt longer than I expected despite being a normal-length episode. The story takes its time, sometimes a little too much, and I found my attention drifting during a few stretches. Jiyu’s personality is becoming clearer, though, and her presence keeps the episode from feeling completely detached.

I like that the show knows how ridiculous its old school tropes are but the humor isn't always working. The rival clan setup is promising, yet the constant switching between dramatic sword fights and broad comedy feels awkward. The animation is still pretty stiff too.
