Synopsis
On her 15th birthday, Kagome Higurashi tumbles down a well and lands in feudal Japan, where demons are very real and very hungry. Turns out she's been carrying a jewel inside her body that every monster in the Sengoku period wants, and within about two episodes, that jewel shatters into dozens of fragments scattered across the country. Now she's stuck traveling with Inuyasha, a half-demon pinned to a tree for 50 years who has serious trust issues and an even more serious temper. Their dynamic starts as pure friction: he thinks she's the reincarnation of the woman who sealed him away, she thinks he's reckless and rude, but watching them slowly figure each other out over 167 episodes is genuinely one of the better slow-burn romances in anime. The core group they build along the way, including a fox demon kid, a cursed monk, and a demon slayer with her own baggage, gives the show real warmth between all the sword fights. Kaoru Wada's soundtrack carries so much of the emotional weight here, and it holds up remarkably well. The tone shifts between bloody demon battles and quiet, surprisingly tender character moments without feeling jarring. If you liked the historical fantasy romance of Fushigi Yuugi or Kamisama Kiss, this hits similar notes but with a harder action edge, closer to something like Rurouni Kenshin. Fair warning: there's filler in those 167 episodes, but the central story and characters earn the runtime.

I've watched this anime over 70 times now and each time I always get in my feels. It's forever my #1
A great episode that illustrates the beginning of Kagome and Inuyasha's relationship. They really start to work together, using their individual skills to create a stronger duo (though they still but heads as usual!) Along the way, Kagome's bravery is also highlighted, as she's truly starting to realize her importance in the task of gathering the Shikon Jewel shards.
Rin shows her courage and risks her life by facing demons to save Jaken. It’s a lighthearted episode that focuses on Rin and Sesshomaru’s hearts, showing us that even though he’s cold, Sesshomaru is always protecting those he cares about.
This episode is one of the most unforgettable ones for me. It’s a tragic story that shouldn’t have had to go through this. The episode explores themes of grief, jealousy, and regret. It’s a lesson about how jealousy can destroy oneself.
this episode is pretty emotional showing us a perfect balance of stotytelling and action between the main characters and antagonists. They way of how a character demonstrates empathy to another makes this new arc more enjoyable

One of the most memorable early episodes of Inuyasha: the debut of Tessaiga, a glimpse into Inuyasha's past, a memorable fight... all wrapped up with a great soundtrack and heartfelt, wholesome moments.
A blend of fantasy adventure, demons, romance, and humor that felt richer than many cartoon shows of the time. It played alongside other classics like Pokémon, Digimon, and Sailor Moon and helped bring anime into mainstream Western fandom.

The plot keeps the same progression from the previous episodes and the movement of the main characters are more predictable. Feelings are much more emphasized and resolution towards their goal seems to be subjective than actually stopping the antagonist that keeps hindering them.
