Episode Context

With Jakotsu's fate sealed in the previous episode, only Bankotsu remains, making this the definitive climax of the Band of Seven storyline and the centerpiece battle of the Mt. Hakurei arc. Positioned at episode 121 of 167, this is a critical action-heavy bridge that resolves the mercenary threat while building toward the larger revelation of Naraku's true machinations hidden within the mountain. What comes next shifts the focus from warrior-versus-warrior combat to the deeper, more sinister endgame Naraku has been orchestrating all along.
