Episode Context

This is the middle chapter of the Tsubaki arc, following the dark priestess's introduction and initial curse on Kagome in the preceding episodes. It deepens the stakes by shifting the conflict inward, testing Kagome's resolve on a psychological level while Inuyasha battles externally.
