Story progression is really good. They give us a big secret and there were cute moments. Story keeps your guessing.

Sheena asking Mimi to be her first friend was the sweetest thing and I love how Mimi didn't even know what that meant at first. It makes the whole child soldier setting feel even more messed up when you see them just wanting to eat rice balls and clean their room like normal kids. That ending line about being dead was a total gut punch

That reveal at the end changes everything because it makes all those cute moments feel way more haunting. You see them holding hands and realize Mimi is literally a corpse soldier

I was actually crying when Sheena started cleaning Mimi's leg and then that ending happened. Knowing she spent her life in a dark hole makes the friendship feel so heavy

The regeneration scene was so gross, but it makes you realize the cost of Mimi being immortal. It is tragic how Fran treats her like a broken tool that just needs to fix itself

Seeing Mimi doodle bunnies in her notebook while being a literal killing machine is such a wild contrast. You really feel for Sheena trying to wrap her head around her roommate being a weapon

It feels so much more eerie when the art style and characters are cute but the theme is dark. Interesting that the person who brought back Mimi's body in a bag was a male voice. The way Mimi shared her darksecret while looking so innocent gave me goosebumps

Slower worldbuilding episode, a setup and explanation on what makes Mimi so special. Wonder if there's any thing darker within that secret.

Now we're talking. I loved how they gave us a break from all the violence just to finally reveal the plot twist. I enjoy subtle horror like this. I am interested to see if Mimi's reveal has anything to do with the girl we saw in the first episode

The whole war thing going on makes the lighter moments feel so fleeting and even dream-like. They really need these moments :') they're just kids omg

The more we get glimpses of Mimi's lore, the narrative gets more interesting 😮 especially that last sentence in this ep. Going in blind bc I haven't read the manga but this is going great so far

I’m starting to just notice how 3D the animation is in some parts… not sure how I feel about it but it’s giving me Blue Lock flashbacks 🥹 the reveal at the end was cool tho!

IMO it was better than the previous episodes. Some more information about Mimi is given and a relaxing clean up happened. Very nice.

EPISODE CONTEXT

Following Episode 2, which forced Sheena into direct contact with the academy's violence during a training exercise, Episode 3 pulls back to examine the quieter cost of that same world through everyday proximity to Mimi. It consolidates the emotional groundwork the season has been laying and positions Episode 4, 'Accomplices,' to raise the stakes now that the bond between Sheena and Mimi has been tested on a more personal, domestic level.
